We usually chase the train the first day, then ride the train the 2nd day and easy off road the last day.

Alright, time to get into this years train trip!

Current plan is to ride the the train on Friday June 13th. Planning on a bus from Antonito and the train back to Chama. I just tried setting up a reservation for us but seems things might be a bit different this year? If anyone else is phone savvy all I'm trying to get is us to be together on the train. Maybe a few of us call and they get the idea?

Cumbres & Toltec

Otherwise excited to get down there. Kick off summer right.

Would like to see who's definitely going this year.

I will not be riding the train on Friday as my dog (Buddy) would not make it in the camper all day. So I will be at the camping site most of the day if any other person thinking of bringing their dog and needs a dog sitter.

Clarify a bit please....0830 bus from Antonito to Chama and then train back? Looks like about an 8 hour day, yes? And what "level" of priced ticket are we shooting for? Coach, Deluxe, other......Thanks.

By the way what time is departure on Friday?

Bus to Chama leaves Antonito at 8:30 am. This will be the only day we leave camp early. Usually wheels up around 8am, if not a bit earlier.

I will not be riding the train on Friday as my dog (Buddy) would not make it in the camper all day. So I will be at the camping site most of the day if any other person thinking of bringing their dog and needs a dog sitter.

Maybe we'll see you guy's along the route:).

Good questions.

So we will be doing the 8:30 bus from Antonito. Train from Chama back to Antonito. As far as "level", coach is best. We'll spend most of the day in the open air car. They do feed you lunch art Osier.

Will be getting my ticket this weekend. When getting tickets let them know your with the rising sun group and that a few others are riding along as well. Maybe we'll get lucky and get seated together (don't know if I like this new group system...)

Unfortunately I will have to back out this year. Got a contract on my house in Moab, got to move. Still hope to be at the Ghost Town Run.

I’m not going to make it either! Too much stuff backing into this weekend for me to leave town. Maybe next year?

I might take you up on this. We have a new dog and my wife needs me to take her with me as she’ll be working late. Kelce is a small one at 15 pounds and almost nine months old.

So, it looks like the last fuel stop for me coming from Denver will be Antonito. Do you all know if I can fill the water tanks at one of those two gas stations? Also, is there a dump station on the way out?

Dump stations in Southern Colorado depending on your route back to Denver area. Both are $10.

Poncha Springs Visitor's Center, GPS: 38.52119, - 106.079988

Phillips 66 Pueblo, Colorado GPS: 38.25444, - 104.662

I'll be there Perry. Not riding the train, just hanging out and wheeling.

Bradley,
Unfortunately, in a previous post, I have backed out of the trip as I have a contract on my Moab house and need to move during that time.

Thanks. I think I found a free one in Alamosa at the Maverick station. It looks like they may have free potable water too.

Brian, Will miss you man! But SO MANY THANKS for allowing me to park my trailer at your place in Moab prior to CM2025! Will see you on Ghost Town Run! Does this mean the move to Peru is now the next step? If, so, will be so cool to see you on my Pan American Highway Trip in 2027!
