Usually the plan is we chase the train Thursday, ride Friday and Chase Saturday. Like Dan said just need to figure out the route this year.

I'm going to guess that we will ride the train on Thursday. Some people will arrive earlier on Wednesday to chase and get settled in, and then Friday/saturday to do the same. Saturday some people like to get an early start towards home, and some of us will probably try to hang out longer for more pictures.
Perry and I need to look at the railroad's schedule to figure out what train we will ride, and when.

The basics is we ride the steam train one day and chase it two days in our truck. The camp and enjoy good company.

Been really distracted with the new apartment and getting the 4runner solid again. Been putting in OT the last two weeks. Really excited for the run and one of my favorites. Will get more progress set this weekend!

We are planning on riding the train on Friday the 14th. Think @DanS got a group ride set up for us recently?
Thought this year is to ride from Antonito to Chama, then bus back to camp outside of Antonito. change things up.
Hopefully Dan can provide more on the group reservation for Friday.

You can call the railroad and add yourself to the reservation, or book yourself separately and ask to be seated next to us!

With how busy things have been at work and such, really looking forward tot his run! For those that are still planning on going, could you post up if you bought a train ticket or just planning on camping and chasing.
Base camp is planned to be above the old track maintenance town of Sublette. Coordinates are: 36°59'22"N 106°13'21"W.
I'm planning on heading out Wed after work and after picking up the rental car. Plan for Thursday is to chase the train out of Chama and depending on snow pack, take Apache Canyon to Osier for lunch. Friday is the train ride and Saturday we'll chase the train out of Antonito/Sublette.
Gonna be fun!

Awesome! @SaintAgatha has some other stuff going on in Denver that I have to help with, so I'll be arriving as soon as I can Thursday night. I'm guessing 9PM.
And I have to head home pretty early Saturday to take @SaintAgatha to the airport, so I won't get to chase much unfortunately. But just try to get me to miss train stuff!
As an aside, anyone driving home via 285 should stop in Como on Saturday or Sunday. Saturday is a scheduled day to get a tour of the roundhouse and facilities. Sunday I'll be there working and can probably pull myself out from underneath he locomotive or the lathe to give you a quick tour.
