Since we're on the Aussie kick....

So much talent over there!
They're doing the rock for sure.

I guess Jet (thanks to an Apple ad), John Butler Trio and Tame Impala gaining global recognition lit a fire down there for producers looking for something old that's new again. Gotta shout out to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard for the band name. I really dig Powderfinger, too.

I've been digging this Spotify playlist from Spoon with their latest album, extra tracks, and a bunch of the tunes they were digging on while recording the album. Some tracks are deep cuts but most are songs you've heard of, everything from Prince to Black Sabbath.

That's was pretty good! I'll have to keep an eye out for when he comes to Denver.

I've been rocking to Avatar all day today. They're a Swedish metal band and I think they're fantastic. They've been around for awhile. Put on a fantastic live show.

@DaveInDenver in case you haven't checked them out yet.

This is has been a favorite Monday morning driving to work song.

A couple favorite driving songs in general. Can't say they help with my speeding though.
@DomOfTheDead wants you to know this is his favorite cannibal song.

...led to this:

We needed something to move and fill up the space
We needed something this always is just the case
Jefrey with one f Jeffery took up his place
Sat on a carpet and with tablas in hand took up the chase

Man, I still love the Pixies.

"Ball and Chain"
Through The Smoke (2021)
Laney Lou and The Bird Dogs

Recorded at The Elm in Bozeman, MT. They are a Montana band currently on the festival and what-not circuit. Most recently saw them at the Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival last weekend.

Wasn't aware of them before that and it was the consensus in my group (sample size of two) that they seriously brought the energy and were easily top 3 of the weekend's show. Probably slot them at a difficult second most enjoyable performance overall in my estimation. That includes besting in my very humble opinion the festival headliner Steep Canyon Rangers. Blasphemy!

Go see 'em!

A couple of songs with the Brothers Comatose featuring AJ Lee (of the Tuttles originally).

And another duet, this Lindsay Lou with the Brothers.

And AJ with her band Blue Summit.

Stretching bluegrass definition a bit without insulting or straying. Both are California groups. I really think AJ and B.C. are on to something but I really like the Brothers Comatose, they've been flying under the radar for years without getting the recognition they deserve. They are a very fun band live.

You won't get a chance to see the Brothers again for a while in Colorado but AJ Lee and Blue Summit are touring through next week and have a couple of dates around Denver.

Lindsay is also coming through Colorado next week! Although no Denver dates, she'll got a couple of free shows in Steamboat and Dillon.

Go forth and thou shall get some!

Song: "Little Bird"
Album: Monarch
Artist: Ghost of Paul Revere

These guys are (or were I suppose) fun. They played last night here in GJ on what they're calling their farewell tour. That made the sound holes sad to hear since I just found out about them.

Digging them, they're a New Zealand band. Pop? Alternative? It's catchy. This is from their latest album and is due out in a couple of months.

So I stumbled upon these guys. I would say they are Japanese punk. I think they're pretty great and rock out pretty hard. they are coming to Denver in October. @stusic and I are planning on going.
