I hear that a balanced 2F is a beautiful thing.

Plastiguaged crank and rods. All tolerances checked out. Final cleaning and assembly with assembly lube. Crank in and all the pistons.

Lots of swearing but it’s in

Not a fan of Fram filters but for initial startup we’ll run it and toss it. It came with the truck from Jane.

New water pump and fuel pump.

Awesome! Glad my 40 doesn’t need to pass emissions! It would never pass!

Those standards are very strict for a '76. I think the standard (statewide, many years ago) when I got older cars tested was 1200ppm on HC and 5.0% on CO.

Smogged to… running much better. The stock 76 has a vac retard dissy. I had a spare small cap vac advance that I dropped in. So much moar fun to drive! Vacuum at about 16 and timing set to maybe 12-14. I don’t have an advance timing light. Advanced to where pinging then backed off.

The 40 is all grown up now…
I don’t like wagon wheels and the 30 year old tires needed to be replaced. The bj70 lost its mud terrains.
The lift was a nos procomp.
Thank you Ricardo for using the shop and he verified we had 13.5 timing advance. Or was it 12.5?

Looks like the procomp lift springs center the wheel pretty nicely. I used OME and decided to move the axle back an inch using centering blocks.

You guys are doing a great job.:zilla:

Nice job guys!

Let's mob cruise moab with 40's this year! :zilla:

Wyatt is definitely taking the 40 to Moab this year. He was asking how long it takes to get there in a 40 :lmao:

Faster than it takes to get there in a tired, loaded 60, that's for certain, especially with that newly built hot rod 2F! 😎

If I get my clutch and transfercase done (just starting into it this week) I'll be bringing my 40 too. You bringing the 64 Wes?

14 is where it registered - wasn't it? Either way, the new engine was smooth and sounded perfect!
