I’ll can definitely put a Stevenson sticker to use when we replace the rear sill. That would be really cool. TY!

The Jedi master showing padawan how to fill a birf.

Put on some new old stock long body 55 asco’s converted to aisin’s I had stashed.

Thanks to Kurt and cruiser outfitters for the tre’s and knuckle rebuild kit!

I usually don’t. Do people normally paint them?
555 recommends that you paint them.

I like the bare metal look too. I need to replace ours. I'll probably clear them once installed.

New seat belt webbing. Not sure I took a pic of the old frayed seat belts before I sent them in

I found some NOS .050 dome pistons so it’s time to strip everything down and take it to Gunn. Wyatt is at scout camp so I might have to wait til he gets back for the help

I'm not sure i'm quite ready to give up on my rebuild. Did a compression test and it's got 120 across the board now. A couple might be closer to 115 but i have an old craftsman compression dial. Rings seem to be seating some but I still get a fair amount of smoke at start up but once it's warmed up it's barely visible. Power seems to be pretty good remembering back to 2F's. I might drive it more and see in a week or two.

Maybe I should bring my FJ40 by and we can have turtle races

I'd still love to see it to compare the ignitor wiring. Sifting through the wiring diagram on that part isn't easy.

We are going to pull this thing and rebuild it. While it runs it doesn’t run like a proper 2f sewing machine.

Ready to come out.

Forgot to post pics of disassembly. I’m not sure why I didn’t run a dingleberry hone down the cyl but that’s why my rering didn’t work. The cyl were glazed. I had compression up to 120 with new rings (up from 70-80) but blew oil by. Gunn all but confirmed that. It’s ok being in for a rebuild. It would have been on the bottom end of a tired motor. In the end we'll have a great running 40 that will go anywhere.

Everything is at Gunn. Block, crank, pistons, cam, flywheel, intake/ext manifolds. New cam and clutch ordered.

Hope to hear next week after cleaning and mix what the plan is and the .050 nos pistons work.

That's awesome guys. Wish I would've just gone all in at the machine shop with the Stout after back and forth with trouble shooting stuff and spending money on the top end. It's running good,, but I bet it could run better (and forever) if I had just done the full rebuild. Good call! Hope to wheel our 40's again someday soon. :zilla:
