I love that mount for the stock rack I was planning on doing something like that for the 80! I’m gonna have to pay GHQ a visit with the 80 as soon as the head gasket is done!

Got a step closer to de-PAIR'ing as stealth as possible, dizzy o-ring and some cosmetic parts I've had laying around for a while now...

Broke my shifter while trying to bend it to clear the dash on the 80....

Who knew I was so dang strong?

So I took some square tubing and just welded up a new center section:

This originally was going to just be an interim fix but I think it looks pretty good!

Yeah sorry Nic, Hulks shifter looks like it’s been done much better. I’d go that route.

@Stuckinthe80s Here's another option for your shifter.

That’s creepy yet somehow comforting looking at the same time. I could imagine being alone, driving down a dark road on a stormy night and just reaching down to grasp a comforting hand to get me through that time of peril. "Thanks severed hand shifter thingy! I really needed that!"

Friday, with professional assistance :robbie::
  • R&R the T-case to replace the transmission rear output seal which was working its way out. After only 325,000 miles. Sheesh! While in there, replaced the output bearing, and on the T-case replaced both front and rear output bearings and seals. Held a viscous coupler in my hands and now understand how they work.
While on the lift:
  • Transfer Case gear Oil
  • Grease both driveshafts
  • New CDL breather hose
  • Front brake pads
  • Speed bleeders all around
  • Flush brakes
  • Parking brake shoes & adjust
  • All rear wheel studs (after one broke off during removal)
  • re-wrapped transmission wiring harness with loom and tape
  • rotate tires
  • make coffee

spent the last few days getting the cabling run and whatnot for a CB install in my tow rig. for some stupid reason, i cannot get below 2.5:1 SWR. Tested all the cables, and nothing is shorting. ground tests good, positive tests good. radio checked a guy about 3.5 miles away. so weird.

3.5 miles is pretty freaking good out of a CB. I know the more powerful SSB ones can reach out a lot farther but that kind of range will serve you well on any trail run.

Is the meter or jumper cable possibly bad? Sounds kind of suspect. :)

Got a bunch done on the t100 thanks to Steve and Adam Prosise. Bobbed it 14” got the 80 rear mocked up and buzzed down, and started mocking up the hydro assist... good weekend.

Opened up the hood for a quick inspection. Coolant res was empty and the radiator was about an inch low. MUD paranoia takes hold and HG fears overwhelmed me.

Had a beer and headed back out to take a closer look. No coolant in oil (blackstone test came back great 5k ago). Start crawling around and notice coolant dripping from the starter, left side of the engine block, a few hoses, and the bell housing. Start looking higher up on the engine for the source....

Not 100% sure yet but it looks like either the PHH (replaced 40k ago so I hope not) or the throttle body coolant hose. Always fun diagnosing issues by headlamp in the dark on an icy driveway. Seems to be leaking coolant at a steady drip when cold. Once the engine gets to 175 or so it stops. Maybe its just a loose clamp? Hoses to the firewall all look good.

Woohoo! An 8’ 9” custom garage door goes up next! I am so happy about this. Also, the total all-in cost for a RTT is >$10k...
