I used a combination of one of those crappy scissor jacks from HF and a regular floor jack to get the tranny in. God I hate those scissor jacks! The sad part about it is that I knew they sucked before I bought it but I was too cheap to buy one of the hydraulic ones. Oh well, it finally went in and now I'm in a holding pattern for things that I thought I had but didn't double check on before I started. :banghead:(i.e.-clutch fork, tranny mount, etc.)

Nice that’s the same kit I had my eye on!

Agreed. Most of my projects I have focused on the mechanicals cause there is always something to fix, but I think the 80 is finally getting to the point I can mess around with the fun stuff. It is very nice to have the soft leather again.

I'm debating if I should have gotten a different color, like black maybe, but this is the kit I got. The color contrast is not as obvious in person. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QLYA3XS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not hard overall, just took like 4 hours of stitching.

Performed an extraction on a fried alternator in the 100 Saturday. Got the new alternator procured to put in it. Now I have to figure out how to deal with the burnt/melted charge wire before I can put it back together. The insulating cap was burned to cinders and the lock nut on the wire was welded to the post. All I have is the burnt end of the wire to work with since the lug fell off when I disconnected it.

:(

Well, it only took me a month, but the 100 is back on the road. Found this bad boy online to fix the alternator charge wire that was burnt off. Seems to be working fine. :hill:

Hoping I managed to remedy my leaks that have been getting out of hand. Three or so trans pan bolts were a little loose and I replaced the seal and o-rings on the speedo sender.

Just accepting deliveries. Machinist has what they need to rebuild the head, so now its just a waiting game to get the engine back. Still one more order I need to make but hopefully its the last. Credit cards are starting to melt.

You're killing me Dan! The truck-enflamer.

Please make up a proper cable! If you give me some specs (wire gauge, length and terminal stud sizes) I'm happy to make one up for you.

That would be awesome Dave. I don't want her to catch fire! I'll figure out what it needs and pm you.

Didn’t do anything, but did pick up the new heart for the LX450 today.
