Yea it definitely hangs down lower but it's still above the sliders. No plans for a skid plate, a couple 100s in the club have the same tank and have been wheeled hard and the tank is beefy enough to take it.

New White Knuckle Off Road sliders installed. 1993 model. It went relatively smoothly. There’s a plate that goes around the catalytic converter and uses captured nuts in the frame. Those were very hard to get in. The rest was just grunt work.
Removed some surface rest behind the mounting plate plates. The one pictured below is right side behind the catalytic converters. Quite significant pitting, but I think it’s from a long time ago. Now I’ll just have a U-bolt in that area to hold the Slee transfer case skid plate. I’ll evaluate whether that area should be reinforced.

In moving the truck, I discovered the top tank of my radiator leaks. 🙄😮😳😬 eternally optimistic, better I discover here than elsewhere. It was installed in 2011 and has about 150,000 miles on it. TRAD. I’ll be looking into what I used to replace it ranging from OEM all the way to a used one I have in the attic.

I made a copycat of these swingouts for my 80. I've loved the oem look and the arms that stick out from the frame keep the bumper covers from getting destroyed when wheeling.

Two spots about 180 off from each other.
One tons are looking more appealing every break.

Curious if yours has any internal baffles? The one in the 60 does not, and I love it other than the loud sound of fuel sloshing around anytime I come to a stop.

Yes it does have large internal baffles that go transverse. It also has a small fuel basket where the fuel pump and return line sit.

My yellow short bus (aka 2007 FJ cruiser) is mostly relegated to runs to vail for snowboarding these days. I went last week and had quite the gravely bearing sound coming from the front so I decided at 169K miles it was time for a front end rebuild. Ordered CVs, upper and lower ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rod ends and sway bar links. Just need to get everything torqued in the morning and then throw the rotors and calipers back on. Man are those press fit ball joints a B**** to get broken loose.

Inspired by wrenching with @nakman yesterday, replaced all three low pressure power steering hoses and flushed the system.

EDIT: Adding to my post above, Feb 15 - 19 I replaced the radiator with the spare I bought from @mikedrom last summer. It was Toyota / Lexus AL from his 1996 LX450 pulled for his LS swap. In my parts stash I also had two of the three radiator hoses, most of the heater hoses - including a silicone PHH and valve hoses kit and a OE Toyota brass T with three hoses kit. Final radiator hose is Gate form NAPA my local shop had in stock. I disassembled and did the heater hoses (drained the block too), then waited to re-install until my new Aisin water pump and thermostat (both with gaskets) and new fan blade (a good suggestion by @IoN6) arrived from Rock Auto. I also put on the blue fan clutch from LongCruiser's LS swap and replaced 5 of the 7 transmission cooler hoses (using Gate 3/8 400 PSI transmission cooler hose I still had from last year's Advance Auto store closing). Add to that a nice radiator shroud I hoarded from @Corbet last year to replace my original one that had zip-tie and epoxy repairs - worked fine but looked not so great. Filled it all with ordinary green coolant just like I have been using 20+ years. Final touch was a radiator nipple protector.

Finished around 5 PM Thursday and was on my way to Utah by 7PM. Made it to Utah and back with no leaks!
