Awe yeah! The 3.slow 5 speed! I miss my 93 4runner! I did the rear main seal, clutch, clutch slave, value cover gaskets, ect about 20 years ago. Don't recall what all it took but we did the under struck stuff on a lift and I think we spent 2 day doing the rear main. It was my first toyota and me and pops had no experience with them or a fsm to guide the way.

The 80 is finally home. Never has ran this smooth, and a 1fz feels like a rocket ship after daily driving a 2f for months.

Installed an RCI gas tank skid on @NotyourmomsWife 4Runner today. The stock skid was pretty beat up thanks to our abuse over the years. 😂

I rebuilt an OE charcoal canister. About to install it. I have three more to build and share if this works as hoped.

Finished up the install of the Warn 8274 on the 40 today. Getting her ready for CM2026.

Are you giving lessons? Another thing that could only help to get Bart past emissions.
well, maybe? 60 is different and its functionally irrelevant for emissions. Visually relevant.

@Inukshuk I am also interested in how this works for you. I think mine is clogged. I have the 80 back and it runs amazing, but the gas tank is getting pressurized and I heard it gurgling into the canister last night after shut down. That link makes it looks like an easy afternoon job.

Just chatted with BVB and mentioned this. He said that charcoal canisters along with the associated check valves can definitely impact test numbers. As can, I learned during the discussion, the seasonal fuel formulations changeout can totally skew test numbers, too. Just my luck that March is my plate number with April as my grace month. Wonder how I can find out when Costco makes the change?

I bet the timing is mandated by some regulation or other. A quick web search suggests that summer formulations start on May 1st, or at least they did last year.

Edit: This from the Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety. This would explain why I get better fuel economy in the summer. The vapor pressure can be no higher than 7.4 PSI, meaning it has a higher density (larger CHx chains). This would suggest that passing emissions will be easier during the summer formulation.

Yup, lucky me. Thanks, Jeff.

Looked it up and April 15, 2026 is the mandatory date that the supplies have to be switched to the summer blend. Stations have until June 1 to get their tanks completely switched over. Costco tankers are at my station at least twice a week so maybe I’ll be able to fill up with summer blend before testing by the end of the month. 🤞

Added a Gamiviti Accessory shelf for the 80 and finally got all my junk off of the windshield with the suction cups that keeps falling off in the heat. Thanks Tim!!!!!!

That's a nice set up! I have my suction cup phone holder dropped down over one of my vents. It rarely affects the passenger for air flow but if my ac is blowing cold, it helps to keep my phone from overheating while charging and getting direct sunlight. It's a nice accidental feature!

Yesterday I took my truck to Colorado Toyota Repair for a gear reduction box and today I ordered a High Lift Jack and Lift Mate.

Not mine, but helped a buddy install a lift on his third gen, 5100's, JBA's and icon add-a-leaf.

He was motivated by our failed Yankee Hill run, 🤣🤣

I love the look of those bronze SCS's, makes me regret my nomads a bit. 😅

I got a box with some stuff that I will show once I get a chance to do something with my rig! It should be enlightening...

Just swapped the transmission oil on the 60.. good lord 41 year old gear oil has a peculiar smell that I loathe. Maybe it’s gear oil in general.
Last night my smog pump decided it was done working so I ripped its insides out and made it into a pulley. Desmog has began..
