Borrowing from my post on Mud - I've been dormant on Rising Sun most of the winter (sorry guys! I miss this!) - but such is life. I was rear-ended in our 200 back in February, and a Mud guy suggested I reach out to Slee and sure enough Slee's rear bumpers were nearly in production when we first spoke. He offered a pre-production model to me (only difference is a shorter accessory 'ladder') that I was happy to take him up on.

Nevertheless finally got the truck to him last Friday, and picked it up on Monday, very happy with the results:

Another customer's awesome truck was parked outside - I grabbed a quick pic of his versus mine (my truck's rear bumper is a pre-production model and you can see the ladder/left mount is 1 'rung' shorter):

The basket Slee mounted to the other guy's truck is definitely something I'll be picking up or making myself:

And finally the rear-view camera (although slightly worse due to snow today):

Also got sliders on while it was there. Next steps in my mind is a lift and then maybe armor and a front bumper this year. Looking forward to seeing you guys again!

Finally found out why my gas tank has a rattle. It's done it ever since I've owned it, and every time I have the tank out I forget to see what up. But this time,I remembered. Here is what I saw...
It's a lock cylinder! Bye bye rattle. I'm glad is wasn't a busted baffle or something wrong with the tank!

Speaking of Fuel Tanks.

This past weekend I performed the T-EL010 TSB on my 4runner and fixed my ridiculous fuel gauge issues. Too bad the original coverage was only for 36,000 miles. Chunk of change but nice to have a fuel gauge that stays full for more than 5 miles, doesn't say bone empty at only 12 gallons gone out of a 17 gallon tank, and doesn't randomly decide to read whatever it pleases.

Playing with some new BajaDesigns XL80's. Trying to figure out where I want to mount them. These are 80w with a rated output of 9500 lumens each.

Couple pics. My OEM lights all have HIR bulbs.

9500 lumens... each!? Wow, that's pretty amazing. Do they have a big heat sink on the back? I'd love to see some nighttime shots when you get a chance Corbet. Those make your factory headlights look like old miners candles with the reflector behind them.

Camera phone pics don't really do the night shots justice but here you go. And yes big heat sinks built into the aluminum housings. I don't have them hard wired yet but ran some jumpers last night in the dark.

Low beam, low+high, low+high+XL80's

Replacing a whiney pulley. Only whine I want in my truck is a supercharger...maybe someday I'll win the lotto.

Then, I cut, lengthened, and sleeved my lower control arms with 1.75x.188 DOM tubing. They are 5/16 longer than stock to help rotate the rear axle back down for driveline happiness.

Both mods need to give some credit to MUD. I believe LCPhil in AZ was the poster?

Finally finished the axle rebuild!

Lots of hurdles... was sold the wrong birfs and didn't know until I thought I was done. Took back apart and reassembled with the correct ones.
Replaced the leaking pinion seal which involved a lot of new differential tools and holder.
New marlin crawler tie rod bar and 555 ends.

Painted the wheels and installed a snorkel while waiting for parts to arrive.

The list is shrinking

This weekend On the 80 I replaced the rear rotors and now I finally have a working parking brake. I also replaced the rear driveshaft U-Joints which fixed a bunch of slop... But of course I broke one of the caps installing them so I'll be back it in a few days.

4x4 labs bumper I welded together fresh from the powder coater. Also sanded and undercoated everything underneath the cargo area. Eventually I'll put together the accessories for the swing arm.
