What a joy working in a stuffy garage for a couple of days in late July.

Front: Fox 2.5 IFP, Camburg Balljoint UCA
Rear: OME Dakar CS047R, Fox IFP 2.0

Alignment Monday.

Very nice Dave! But but puleeez! heat in July in Colorado? I've been working outdoors in near 100 percent humidity and high 90's in the Iowa tropics for weeks! :banghead:

Oh sure, you upgrade to a V6, 6 forward gears, cruise-friggin-control, coil springs.

But pizza cutters foreva.

The stock TRD rims are maybe a little wide and definitely have too much backspace, the tires sit a little bit too far inside the wheel wells. Thinking maybe 1st gen wheels or perhaps steelies or spares. I'll have to think about this. But I think nice clearance all around, no trimming, no rubbing and I can leave on the mud flaps.

I rebuilt the driver-side CV axle again because the tripod bearing holder came off the end of the shaft bar. :( And I'm now working on replacing the knock sensor wire harness. I replaced the knock sensor last week and that did not fix the code. While I was in there I also replaced the water pump and timing belt, because "250k". So now I'm having to take apart the engine again and replace the wire harness for the knock sensor. UGH! I'm getting way too good at taking this thing apart and putting not back together again. :D

Gotta love a 29-year-old 22R. Flying colors!

Scored an M12000 for $500 off Craigslist :D

The thing is a freakin' hoss. Way bigger than my 8274. I was surprised, but probably shouldn't have been.

Anybody need a hitch mount plate that will fit an M12000? I don't think I need it and it's going to come off.

Now I need to find a winch ARB to replace my non-winch ARB. Anyone want to trade? :D

Tcases are out for new bearings in the MC09. Bought it used, and bearings seemed okay. Turns out the stock transfercase that was in my truck when I bought it had some bad splines (very sharp, rather than flat on top). Messed up the coupler and put too much pressure on the bearings.

Sent back to Marlin, who machined it out for the larger bearings (I have unit 29, which is so old they no longer stock or support the bearings that were in it). They also put in a secondary vent which should help keep oil from pumping out of the shifter.

Finally, been putting together yet another new shifter for the crawl box, to eliminate noise.

Will post pictures in the build thread once I actually make some progress...LOL

GX470 Lockers front and rear

So, had a busy week. Just installed ARB's front and rear along with Nitro 456 gears. Next week is Metal tech bumpers front and rear and to wrap up the week, ARB sliders... are we having fun yet? :thumb:

Very cool Brian! We'll need pics of course. :photo: :thumb:

I don't have anything to report. My FJ60 is sleeping in a storage unit because my garage is lame. :(

Thanks guys! It made a big difference in updating the look of the wheels. They are 2017 Tundra wheels but have been around for a while. The BFG AT's I scored for a song so I jumped on them and popped them on the new wheels. I bet they are 30# lighter per corner than the steelies they relpaced with the Toyo Open Country MT's I had on there. :thumb:

I replaced two connectors at the intake manifold, by the TPS. The tabs that lock the connectors in place had broken off. One s long time ago and the other last week. I asked Bill Van Beek where he sources connectors and he said he cannibalizes old harnesses. I had another engine harness from my rebuild 4 years ago, so there I went.

Once you figure out how to release the pins, its fairly straightforward. For the connector picture below, the white part is a lock. You pop that back with a flat blade screwdriver, then use a micro - think eyeglass sized - screwdriver to release each pin. I did them one at a time to not mix them up.

The two connectors are the ones with the fresh electrical tape on the wire loom I cut back for accesss :thumb:
