To fit my shackle flip I chopped the exhaust pipe. Well how it was aimed roasted my leaf bushing. Got the exhaust repositioned today. Won't be scraping this on any rocks. Air Car Colorado isn't gonna love it though.

Looks good. I like the low profile approach.

Stuff

4runner got junk yard Chevy's in the rear with a junknyard 94 axle and a junk yard elocker. Still need to wire locker, I have factory computer and switch. Got a rising sun sticker my friend made for me. They cost $10. To get made.

Ashley's Tacoma got a steering rack, alternator, and optima battery.

Cool :thumb:

That's a nifty sticker too. Can they make them any smaller than that?

I started to replace my upper control arms this after noon. I got half way done before everything went to hell. Now I need new upper ball joints. Which, on my set up, is an incredible pain in the ass to accomplish.

I'd just like to say, for probably the thousandth time, that the whole idea of 4WD-IFS is ludicrous. The idea that these two concepts will work together in harmony, is ridiculous.
At this point, since I've owned the truck, I've replaced CV axles eight times and the front diff twice. All this nonsense and more front end repairs to the tune of nearly the cost of a SAS. I'm so sick and tired of constantly working on this front end. I'm sick of the design of parts that can not be disassembled without being destroyed. (Ball joints, for example)
I am officially done with this sub par form of suspension.
I am very happy to announce that, this time next year, the Honey Badger will be rolling on a brand new SAS.

They can make it smaller. I have to send him the eds file of the logo. The big one they made from the jpeg and it had to be that big to work.

Just did an upper ball joint on a Tacoma yesterday. I modified a pitman arm puller to press it out. It worked better then a ball joint tool. Did use the tool to press it back in.

Are you guys having trouble with removing the joint? Or just the taper from the arm?

For the taper I always use an air hammer. Pickle fork will ruin it for sure. To get the joint out of the spindle I have a balljoint press from Matco that I've been happy with. But I've used a HF press too.

Wrong widths, driveshaft drop, etc. looks like a Diamond axle is in his future

Yep. Diamond axle and all new parts. I'm officially over the IFS nonsense. :thumb:

Meant all the hangers and such. He could also go duals and run a gear drive rear case to drop passenger. :D

NICE! Money well spent. Never met an unhappy diamond customer. Excited to see the build!

I've been thinking about one for the rear with a set up like Justin has (4th gen with disks). I'm sure they could weld it up with the correct flanges.

So this happened today.

To the moon Alice to the moon!

(For the young pups, that was a Jackie Gleason quote..and the moon is nominally around a quarter million miles away).

FWIW, I was driving down C470 in front of Bandimere Speedway when I hit a quarter million miles on my 1976 FJ40 "Olive".

When we got my daughter's 1985 4Runner, it had 455,00 miles on it. We hit a half million before sending that rig on to the next owner.
