Started the clutch replacement in the Tacoma. Got the transfer case dropped, but the trans will not come off the pilot bearing (guess) and I am too gassed to keep fighting it tonight. Hopefully in the morning it will let loose 🤞

The POR-15 High Temp stuff goes on so nicely. If anyone wants me to paint their parts, just let me know, very satisfying.

I spent 2 hours running a wire so that I could upgrade my 12v plugs on my dashboard panel. No one else in my house was that impressed by the effort, or time spent. So I made a video... gonna figure out how to get this on IG next.

Santa came early for the 250. Replaced the factory gravel guards with some proper 1/4" powder coated skid plates. I looked at the factory ones that came on the first edition but they were much thinner and more expensive than these with less coverage. I will probably add a new skid for the fuel tank as well.

When I was installing the OEM skid plates, I estimated that they are probably around as strong as stock FJ40 skid plates. I do not plan to beat the crap out of my 250 the way I have with my 40s though...

Working to winterize the Sasquatch. Cleaned out all the dirt/sand from the tent and scrubbed down the floor with Murphy’s Oil Soap. Gives it a nice shine, I like the smell, and most importantly the oil gives the wood some protection. Also laundered all the bedding. Ready to go come spring.

All this stays in the tent folded. 5 pillows, Kelty double sleeping bag, Pendleton wool blanket, Big Agnes down comforter, and Exped mattresses.

Ditching the original mattress is key. Frees up so much space and the Exped’s are way more comfortable. Folded with all bedding. Same as original height. Minimal effort required.

Started the clutch job this afternoon on my Daughters 40. After dropping the trans and transfer case I think I might need to replace it with the spare I have on my shelves. The front bearing in the transfer feels like it is full of gravel. I guess that is to be expected on a 54 year old rig.
