James Bigham joined us late on our Golden Spike run. He is an original club member and CM planner. He had just left the club and moved out of state when I joined. I had never met him. So it was cool meeting him and seeing him wheel his understated 40.

Our Golden Spike run on Sat. went really smoothly and was quite fun. Rob Meredith was at the event and was on the run. He came by our trailhead to personal say he wouldn't be able to run the Spike with us. His wife needed him back at home. I was looking forward to running with himm again. But, we had, BVB with Robbie riding along, Steve Crase and Adam Tolman with us. Only about 10 in the group and it felt like a club run. We got back to the trailhead at 6pm. Yay!

MY name is Chris and I had a blast. I met many new faces and really enjoyed my time. I was in a little black 4runner that ran Golden Spike, Moab Rim then Flat iron mesa...Here's some of my better shots

Thursday-Moab Rim- Led by Steve and gunned by Jeremiah. There I was in the middle of a group of built 40's, 80's and a spooled mini truck. No issues on the trail and I was beat after that.

Day 1

At this point it was 545 and this is the last uphill obstacle. Everything else is dropping back down ledges on gold bar rim.

Did I mention cool trucks....

LT on 37's I really liked this one..

Friday- Moab Rim

Trail leader for the day was Scott Yoder and gunner was Steve Brady. I really enjoyed this trail and will be on it again.

Hey - there was a picture of Brady.

You and your 4runner did a great job Chris. I'm glad you came out. Nice smooth job on the crack also.

Yes, that's Joe Calleja of Colorado Toyota Specialists, a long-time Rising Sun member and leader of many trails in Cruise Moab for us over the years. He normally sponsors a trail but this year the trail he normally sponsors, Behind the Rocks, was already sponsored by another local shop, Redline Landcruisers. So Joe just tagged along. He was a full registrant and I put him on the rim that day. He had a built 40 he wheeled for many years, and has subsequently built that truggy you see there.

Side by side action with Gary Coberly. Gary is an awesome driver. But in this video he actually failed getting up. I do have the video of his next attempt and he just pops right up like he usually does. But, it's boring compared to this one.

Here is the link if the embedded video doesn't work.

Toyota Trails would like to see and hear about your adventures at Cruise Moab. Email your submissions to editor@tlca.org

The Kokopelli was interesting this year...... And very fun. I also ran The Pickle and Gold Bar over the weekend. We bumped into Yoder and his Spike group at the final obstacle on Gold Bar Rim, which is much harder this year than it has been in the past.

Side note.....

I drove an 80 on The Pickle. I'm not ready to say I'd trade my 100 for one, but I have the 80 itch really really bad.

RZR's are slowly eating away at every trail in Moab. JMHO.

Why do you think it is the RZR's making the trails more difficult? We did the whole Spike run including Gold bar rim with three different RZR models and hardly spinned a tire on an obstacle.

Gary's video above does not support this but remember that is in Bfe play area where one typically tackle stuff larger that what your vehicle allows for.

I just happened to post right before Stan made that comment. It wasn't intentional. Gary was on the trail on the Pickle trying to get up an obstacle. Just like we were. Our rigs can make a similar impact. I just thought it was an entertaining video.

Can we move the RZR discussion to a different thread please? This is for CM porn.

Thank you Matt. I have been thinking of starting a new thread in the Land Use section to address this. I have opinions too, but decided not to dilute this thread with them.

Stretched 4door 40 on a mega cruiser chassis at Slick Rock camp. Someone mentioned in a thread only 200 were ever made. Is that correct? Not a lot of info on em. Cool rig though.
