Well, Stevinson West hasn't been super-helpful so I decided to cast a wider net. I just got off the phone with Zach Grimm at Mountain States and he was FAR more helpful than Mallory Drendel at Stevinson West has been.

He told me that if I want a particular model in a particular color, my best bet is to "build" one online, then bring him the build and after paying a deposit they'll order it in and it will take 3-6 months. He also said that they do not mark up over MSRP, and he told me that Stevinson does (I don't know if that is a fact, just what he told me on the phone).

He said they'd get like 30 or so in on allocation, and most of those will have been spoken for and then there'll be 3-4 left available for sale, and those might typically be less-popular colors (like white or black), or with or without various options.

I wish I knew this sooner, I'd already be driving one if I did!

Who is the guy that @Romer employed to help him find a Tacoma? Couldn't a professional like that help with something like this?

Here is the link to where he discusses the broker. This is the path that I would be exploring to find a 250 if I was in the market. To hell with working with the local dealers who are all now owned by publicly traded companies. The absurdity is that it is possible to buy from a dealer on the east coast who is still owned by the same parent company, but to get a better deal.

text him and see if he can find what you want. Not sure there are any deals in 250's yet. He did get me $3k below MSRP on a Tacoma.

My Tacoma was supposed to start build today and checking with the Toyota Dealer he lined me up with to see if it has

FWIW Stevinson told me when I put my name on the list in June 2023 they did not charge markups. They actually offered me a first edition in black about a month ago, but I hate black for a vehicle that sees the trail. I had a deposit on the GX550 that I can cancelled, and I don't think I'll go for the new Cruiser either. I haven't taken my name off the list at Stevinson quite yet however I just don't have a need for a shiny new Cruiser when the 200 is totally dialed, locked, and already has some trail patina. Also have a bone stock super clean locked 1997 80 sans roof rack and running boards, and I don't to sell either to make room for the 250 🤣

Exactly why I went the Tacoma route. It is essentially the 250 with a truck body :) I did get the non Hybrid version after driving it though, so that will be different. The plane Turbo I4 had plenty of power

My buddy across the street just tested his LC250 handling to the max…

He walked away shaken up and heart broken but alive. I’m still trying to find out what happened? I assume someone turned in front of him at Sheridan and 144th intersection which is awful for major accidents as people are idiots!

Glad he’s ok! Based on the post in the spotted thread, I missed that accident by less than 10 mins. Terrible.

Hopefully he heals up and gets another.
