Looking like a "Land Cruiser" trim for me. Hoping I can get trail dust in two tone with that trim level.

Toyota also announced an EPA rated 23 MPG combined in the press release. That is a little disappointing when originally it was said to be 27. With the numbers Tundras are seeing 23 is not surprising.

I think I like the 1958 the best.
Probably because it's closest to my budget, but not anywhere close enough.

I don't trust the hybrid mpg numbers.... They are always waaay off from what I've seen and experienced. Almost everything always looks good on paper.

I'm a little disappointed by the color options, mainly with the First Edition. I want some Java seats and round headlights!
The Lexus GX 550 OT+ is kinda lacking in the color department too. The two tone only comes with a black roof.
I just want a white roof with some "less loud," color options.
Dark grey with a white roof and some Java seats would look rad. Added bonus of staying cool in the summer.

You can't impress everyone, amiright?

My brother is encouraging me to get one with the logic that as long as I keep cars and at my age it’s really the last one I’ll own. So why not get something I really want.

I think I would only do the 1958 basically just because the price. If I were looking to do the Land Cruiser version it would only be because I need something in the 4600 premium package like lane keep assist which I would love for road tripping, but at that price you are paying 67k and then I'd be hard pressed not to get the gx550 overtrail with more features and hp/towing numbers for 1k more.

Not that I'm getting either, but for me it seems like if you want to add any options at all it just makes more sense to get the GX for within a grand difference.

hmmmm... apparently 1958 comes with lane trace assist, but to get lane keep assist you need the premium package which only comes as an option on the mid level LC trim.

Why are all these steering assist systems so convoluted? Anyone know the difference? I did a quick search out of curiosity but not much out there.

I would guess lane tracing is centering you in the lane like an autopilot and lane keep is just pushing you back into the lane when you drift out of it, but not keeping you centered. If so I hate lane keep from rental cars I've had that do that.

Also not sure how that would differ from Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist that is in the safety sense above as well.

I couldn’t find a good answer either. But I hate all the corrective driving features of my wife’s Outback and deactivate them when ever I drive it. Best I can tell is that the “assist” system works when cruise control is on and the “keep” system allows you to activate it without cruise?
