Using the last of my Shell rotella T-6 5w-40 in the pig. I used to get it from Wally World for $21.95 per 3.875L jug. Now its 45 to 50 bucks a jug. Got to figure out what to run now?

Last time I hit a trail I blew a rear axle seal..so today was the day to tear into the rear axle.
Did both sides successfully and it wasn’t all that bad of a job.

Changed out the driver head light on my DD with a new OEM unit. I hated paying the extra cost of a new one from Toyota but a few years ago I replaced both with some cheap aftermarket ones. They we so yellow after three years, no matter what I did to try and buff them up or polish them they were just yellow. My original ones lasted like 14 years before they were cracked and yellow.

Oil change and finally added a cooling fan to the transmission cooler for when I’m crawling and moving slow. Also picked up some cloth seats.

Thanks @DomOfTheDead for the brackets to hold the fan!

No pics. But I am certain I have chased the frigging wobble out of the rig. Thrown all kinds of stuff at it.
Front rotors and brake pads, some bearings in to the hubs, new TRE all thanks to a very good and knowledgeable friend, many thanks @PhatFJ.
Greased ALL the Zirks, yesterday.
Today got tires balanced and rotated, front end aligned and an indentation to one rim straightened out.

Feels like a new ride, not sure for how long I'll keep it that way. Riding straight without concerns at any MPH is nice.

Changed Transmission and Transfer case fluids, used same as previous owner did.
Online research for recommendations drove me nuts 🥜 . I’m actually very happy I did this, found some concerns to me regarding belly armor/plate (heavy son of a gun). Glad it was still attached, ensuring it will be. Before and after pics.

Bought a sweet FJ60 Sept -19, with no mechanical skills whatsoever. Today I feel I have at least graduated to a novice Amateur status. Almost completing a Drivers side front knuckle ( cruiser outfitters 54mm socket, sucks shit) got to borrow one to complete it. Replaced seal with same exact one, Marlin crawler heavy duty seal. Not gonna get caught up in grease selection, that search is a flipping headache. Couple pics

Cruiser Outfitters are good guys. I am sure they would want to hear about this and will get you another that works ASAP. Sucks about the socket, but well done on doing the work!

Thanks.
I may have just got a bad apple/socket. It is made of high quality steel for sure, been filing on it for 45-50 min to get it to fit, finally.
I do not know them and am sure they are all good, just saying that somewhere in the Quality control, culd be improved.

Also when you are tired and not happy, some will spit it out.
I normally do not, but did.

Bought and added a shortbus. The price tag stings a lot more knowing what it cost just a few years ago.
