whoa cool nice work on the license plate bracket! How did you cut it out?

Looks like hillbilly dirty jigsaw booty fab (excellently executed if you ask me). It came out looking really nice Mike! :thumb:

Love the license plate frame! Trying to figure out something better for my 80's ARB! My license plate is getting bent from me standing over it wrenching in the engine bay.

thx guys, yea whole saws and cut off wheels :hill::hill::hill:
kinda matches the rest of it

Thanks Mike! (I think  )

You might notice the 40 in the background, been going 's trying to figure out my starting/ignition issue. Got it running today for the first time in 3 weeks, but I am back to where I was before... I am pulling the ignition switch tomorrow and checking the circuits.

Matt, I installed one of these on my ARB front bumper to protect the license plate. Works great! Quality is better than the photo would lead you to believe. You can install it in any orientation that works for you. I put the protective edge on the top to keep the license plate from getting bent.

Lately I feel like all I do is work on the old gal. So far this week a new radiator went in and a left steering knuckle rebuild with all new bearings/seals/spindle

Tomorrow morning, I'll get an early start on the rear. Try and finish it up before it gets too hot out. Later in the afternoon, I'm going to try and get the front bumper on. Starting to come together.

Dave, I appreciate all the tips and pointers you had given me via email. Super helpful.

Got the rear done this morning. Those Deavers were beastly to manhandle on my own. Quite a workout.

Got her back together and just went cruising around the neighborhood. Quite a bit of rubbing up front so a body mount chop is probably in order but we'll see what happens after the alignment. Definitely need to play with the adjusters on the shocks. She's super stiff right now.

Taking a bit of a break, stretching the back out, then I'll start on the bumper.

Truck is looking good, it's a real beast. Digging that you went straight to 11 with Kings!

BTW, don't be tempted to sell your stock suspension. You'll appreciate having it when you have to remove the coil overs and rear shocks to rebuild them, which is fairly often with King, FOX, Radflo, Icon. If you believe the literature FOX includes it's annually or 10,000 miles for non-race vehicles used 50/50 on and off pavement. You can push that longer the less off road you do but for a 100% off highway the interval is every 1,000 miles.

Yea, wasn't planning on getting rid of the stock stuff. I do need to reorganize the garage to make room. However, the Kings are user serviceable. It'd be like working on a giant DH fork. I'd just have to find a place to refill the nitrogen. Besides, the shipping cost to get those things to King and back would be...

There might be someone local that could do it but I haven't looked into it yet. Maybe High Country 4x4?

Installed tundra 199 brakes on my 4runner. Rotors are like twice as thick. Hopefully no more rotor warping.

Nice! One of my favorite all time mods... how is the stopping? When I did this on my Taco years ago I almost went over the handle bars.

It feels like it stops the same but without brake pulsation. I think the 199s are the same as the stock calipers but just wider to allow for the wider tundra rotors. If I had big bumpers and roof top tent and stuff I would have gotten the 231s which have significantly larger pads which Im guessing you got for your taco.

Got around to putting a few things on Sunday. Thank goodness I don't have an HOA...I'd be kicked out of my hood for having all this stuff laying in front for a month.

My new "budget" bumper (ladder jerry can combo left and tire swing-out right). This is the same brand that I put on the 80 series prior to the sale and required the same aount of fabrication to get it to fit. Lesson FINALLY learned from this guy.
Trail Taylor sliders from another member here in CO (U-bolts were bent slightly...new hardware required).
Started modding my trailer with a 2" receiver hitch for my bikes, Roto-pax water and first aid cans, roll out bins for inside the trailer...pics coming

New shift knob

Replaced the shift knob, and put a super fresh lx450 seat cover and foam on my 80 seat.
