Better pictures of my gear setup. The winch extension fits nicely on top of the ARB Snatch Strap

ARB Snatch Strap (Orange) and ASR Tree Saver (Red). The air hose and Inflater fit on top nicely. Shovel and axe to left of straps(can't see)

Paul,
I wasn't complaining. I can zip it with the extension inside. It just fits better out of the bag next to my recovery strap in my storage drawer. I wasn't really planning on having the winch extension in the bag since it is large.

The bag is perfect. I was just calrifying the picture and showing all the toys I got yesterday

It is very well made and very happy with the purchase

Hey Ken,

I didn't take it that way, I just wanted you to be satisfied with your gear.

Please lmk if you have any questions, comments or suggests!

I appreciate it.

Curious what you have in those small side pockets in the picture

Can we play: Guess What's In Paul's Pockets"? LOL

Hitch pin right? Unmentionable on right? LOL (or a Safe-Xtract Winch Line Lock, which may be NLA?)

In what situation would you use that vs the X Lock?
If I have an x-lock and there is nothing in the rigging that would prevent its use, I'd use the x-lock.
Daisy chain shortening is s time-proven technique. Bill Burke is famous for doing it with a rolled up magazine, specifically Overland Journal. IYKYK
The earlier nylon lock was actually stressed till failure in testing. Hence the aluminum model.
It's another tool. Another skill and option.

LOL....That is correct!

The funny part is I remember learning (via DVD) how to use a rolled up magazine as a line lock by BB 20+ years ago! But, the new style is much better!

Sheave size (the wheel) is an important factor. I grabbed a nice 30,000 lb Master Pull for $50 at KOH only to later discover the sheave will only work with 3/8 wire. Synthetic needs a groove at least as deep as the entire diameter. Wire is ok with a radius deep groove.

Daniel, can you expand a little on this. Masterpull says not to use wire rope but only synthetic rope with their snatch blocks. So are you saying they have a design flaw with their product or did you pick up an older/outdated version?

Masterpull makes a ton of products. This happens to be a pulley block for wire rope.

So the one you bought was not the same as this? https://www.masterpull.com/snatch-block-sbo30000-12/

Just want to confirm as I do plan to buy the Masterpull unit when I feel flush with new recovery gear funds. I did not know the diameter/radius thing with respect to wire verse synthetic. My existing snatch block is technically not the correct spec for my 3/8” synthetic rope. Obviously it’s worked without failure to date but more motivated to replace it now.

Sheave size (the wheel) is an important factor. I grabbed a nice 30,000 lb Master Pull MileMarker for $50 at KOH only to later discover the sheave will only work with 3/8 wire. Synthetic needs a groove at least as deep as the entire diameter. Wire is ok with a radius deep groove.
1) Turns out mine is MileMarker. Also a decent company. I'll edit my post.
2) Mine is the PN 60-50083, WLL 7.5k lbs, 30K Minimum Breaking Strenght (typo in original) (Some other websites use that same part number advertised as a 20k lb pulley block)

So would you put 5ft on the drum, or fill it full with 10ft?
