Look at the VIN stamped on the front right frame rail and see if it has a digit in front of it.

Is there a data plate on the firewall behind the engine?

The plate on the firewall has been posted in this thread. Would there be any other locations?

I can't remember if the early years had another data plate on the door jamb like the later years. I just wonder where the guys on MUD are coming up with those number prefixes that they are posting...

There are no other identification plates to my knowledge this early. It also does not have the brass tag. If anyone can shed any light on this I would love to learn more. Is there anyplace I can find out the original specs and time of import running the VIN?

congrats, based on the frame # and SOR data it's 8-9/64 mfg probably sold in early 65. I would have thought all the 64 mfg would have the 4 proceeding the vin but i guess not.

Floor

I got the seats out and upholstry ordered and pulled the tank. Also I picked up a 84 FJ40 front disc axle, 4spd trans, and late matching rear third memeber from Dans. Also picked up some late in er adles for the fine spline so I can run the early housing with late innerds.

Motor powerwashed

Washed the motor down. After soaking the carb and changing the oil the motor actually runs good. The motor will be available with adapters in a couple months. Putting a 2F in it.

Looks good. What's your method for washing down a motor? Can you just take it to the self-serve car wash and blast it?

He just used some of the spray engine cleaner stuff you get at the parts store, then used my power washer. Seal off the carb and Distributor and you will be fine.
