Well that's a good point about the relays... in my case typically have 3 or 4 relay harnesses installed so it's easy to find a spare! Not like you need another project though when out in the wild, and for some reason headlight relays seem to only fail when it's dark out.

X2...what Hulk said. I've run the SLEE harness for 10 years with ZERO issues. And better light output. I also used the John Deere bulbs, but i'm sure your bulbs are as good or better.

80 series baptism continues with the most recent ritual being a seat gear replacement! After acquisition of some sweet seat gears from the fine folks at www.gamiviti.com I was able to complete the process so quickly that Allison aaaaaalmost bought of on the tale that I went to the garage to load up the bikes in the car!

Ok,ok it took about 30 maybe 45 mins but it went fast and watching the new video was the key:

Personally I did not notice a difference with the Slee harness.

Same here. I finally unwired mine after blowing yet another relay on the Outlaws run.

Sending the front belts off to get rebuilt. The 60 had twice as many miles and its belts were still great.. go figure.

Second battery and aux fuse box installed. Went with 2ga wires to the fuse box and to tie batteries together. This time I opted for simple and went with a 200a relay controlled by the alternator light circuit and a Slee dual battery led monitor thing. Simple. The fridge I plan to get will tell me the second batteries voltage anyways and shut down if the party goes too late. 100a circuit breaker to the aux fuse box and the Slee washer bottle relo kit of course...

Also wonderful how the OEM right side tray fits a group 31! How rad is that? All I had to do was go to oriely and get some long j hooks and fab up a bar for the top.

I Also did the wits end fire extinguisher bracket with a switch for the future fridge. The bracket is a nice piece. No more fire extinguisher either lost in the truck or banging around. And for those wondering yes it’s Halon. Oldie but goodie. This one in particular has put out I think two separate car fires?

Yeah the fuse box fit there awesome! Totally stole that idea from you Corbet!

Good info on the OEM tray. I guess we’ll see how long it lasts. I assume the other option would be to fab a tray or are there other ones available ?

Fire extinguisher content... if you get tired of watching this guy drive skip forward to the 3:05 mark.... gives you a good idea of how much time you got.

Man-a-fre used to offer a 'four-plus" battery box for 80's but was only sized for smaller batteries and like most of their stuff was built with double the steel really needed for the application. I don't know of any other options. I told Joey a while ago to design one. I'd gladly pay his price to simply bolt in a solution.

I've been planning to build my own battery box for a while. I need to weld my SWAG Offroad brake up so I can make some bends to sheet metal and plate steel.

My FJ40 fire was way more explosive than that in nature. It was through the firewall before I got pulled over. (Freeway Speed). Would be nice to know what caused that one. I believe mine was a massive fuel leak, mine stalled right before the "huff". His engine did not stall out, so it was still getting some fuel.

Got the seatbelts back. I like them but wish the return spring was tighter. Oh well. The belts themselves look amazing and it’s nice not to have a shredded belt anymore.

Also while I was bolting seatbelts in dad, who is a huge fan of cleaning, polishing, baby diapering, and cleaning cars hit all the black parts and lenses with some polishing compound. Sweet. Thanks dad! It was an amazing transformation he had to do for me to believe the Beauty of.

Also awesome to be working on a car with the guy that not only taught me but supported my car addiction.

He says I have to do the flares now.

Who rebuilt your seatbelts? I used Safety Restore in Mass., and they did a great job on my FJ40 belts.
