I know of a local guy who is restoring a Silver FJ 62, but will let him post if he want's to. It's going to be very nice as well.
As far as sound deadening, I really like it in my 60 but also added aftermarket carpet at that same time. It made a good bit of difference, IMO.
The areas of rust and repairs are Identical to the ones I had on mine, not just outside but inside.
So heads up 60 folks, reading/following.

What product did you go with for the deadening? I also have new carpet on the way and I expect there will he a huge noise reduction anyways with no more holes in the rear wheel arches.

I personally used Siless Hybrid 3 in 1, some sticky stuff and don't do it if it's warm outside. But pretty easy to trim. I posted it here on the forum somewhere. Check it out on Ama zone.

Just be aware that the body mount bolt and the sleeve it rides in can weld themselves together after all these years. I had to go to some extraordinary lengths to remove the two behind the rear wheel well. It was not fun and required chaining the frame to the ground. Those two were huge bitches while the others just slipped apart.

Day 16 - Sandblasting is magic.

Body work is done and the frame was blasted for paint prep. The gas tank will be dropped before final paint and will be painted the same black.

Great news that there was no unknown frame rust present. About what I expected and easy to patch.

@Rzeppa Look like some familiar spots? Same exact area on the shock crossbar.

Yes, crossbar rust in same places, both crossbars. On the one for the shocks, I sleeved both ends and rewelded. Your inside frame rust looks worse than mine was, maybe because mine was originally an Arizona truck and had literally no rust when I bought it in 2011, so everything I experienced is thanks to CDoT's mag chloride, and to a lesser extent NaCl. If you go with the 4x4 Labs rear bumper, that rear crossbar gets cut out and replaced with a new, beefier crossbar.

I was listed as a 40 gal LRA but it looks a bit different. It does have the LRA stamp, maybe they changed the design? Good chance its the same as yours.
