Fellow 60 owners.

Are your door cards looking shaggy and unkept? A sweater shaver is your solution!

Not too bad for a 15 minute after work project! The last photo shows how much material was removed on two doors.

I am somewhat amazed at how well it worked. I was trying with a razor blade and realized quickly it was a stupid idea. We already have a tool designed for this exact application.

You’re 100% right, exact application…but I would have never thought of that!

Kilmat done! Well at least the body. I will do the doors at a later date the next time I pull the cards. Tiny rust spots were all cleaned up and primed. That was quite a few hours of work.

Once I got less fussy about perfect seams and overlaps the process went way faster. Not 100% coverage but that is not needed for this product. There are just under 2 boxes of kilmat 80mm used in these photos.

Looking forward to getting the carpet in.

Carpet install has begun. I am using second skin luxury liner as an underlayment. It is a closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl combo. I will not get 100% coverage and may go back and fill in the gaps around the edges. It is a thick product, and I do not want it to interfere with the carpet seams.

I am moving very slowly with this part from back to front. I need to order two more sheets of liner for the front section but I may just get the carpet in so I can drive it for a week or two.

I hope this is a real noise improvement because it is tedious work.

New front belts from seatbelt planet. The female ends are only available in black. The dark grey looks pretty good. Kept the toyota hardware for these.

I just did the same front belts. Pro tip: the original cover for the A-pillar/shoulder hardware snaps right so you can have a color match there. Brown in my case, probably gray in yours.

Do you have a photo of how you arranged the hardware for the other side of the belts? I was not sure how to set them up.

Absolutely plan to keep. Will probably daily drive it in good weather. The luxury liner is pretty heavy so I am not gluing it down. It would be easy to pull to clean and is waterproof. Definitely better than jute. I am going to pull the jute backing off the new carpet front section.

The L-brackets in the middle by the center console? I think the driver’s side didn’t matter which way the bracket went, but the passenger side was more critical. The bolt holding it to the floor is underneath the console, and the bolt coming in from the side to attach the receiver to the bracket gets close to the console. I think I did the longer part of the bracket along the floor going towards the passenger side, and the shorter part going upwards for the receiver.

IDK, those fender wells look pretty tricky! That is an incredible job you did!

Can any 60 owners shoot me some photos of the rear seatbelt attachments? I have not had the interior together in a long time and its confusing me.
