I don't hate it. In fact, the more I look at it, the more I think it looks like a modern 60 series; like if they would have made slight modifications to the 60 series body over time, this is the modern version of that. I guess I was just hoping for a Jeep/Bronco killer (which I knew was a pipe dream) and that they were going to go waaaayy back to the original styling with removable top and doors. To me, that would have made more sense from a product line-up. If you watched the unveiling video, they had more footage of 40 series rolling around than any other platform.

Would I buy one? Mmmm....maybe? It just doesn't stir the emotions like some other offerings that are out there. Then again, neither did the new Sequoia until I saw the one Ben at Dissent built out. I'm excited to see one of these built out to show off it's "true" beauty.

Also, I like going down the rabbit hole of thought imagining if this being very similar in size to the 4runner means that the new 4runner will be a Jeep/Bronco competitor? If so, I'd sell all my junk and buy one of those FO SHO!

I guess that’s fair. Still it’s the first tundra ever that has not being able to be recommend by consumer reports which I see as an accredited source into a vehicles reliability with real peoples experiences. Also it seems the tundra has been plagued with various issues with cheap interior plastics and rattles (example seat frame plastics, creaky door cards, excessive wind noise, etc).

But to be fair it’s a new truck and every model has kinks and I do believe innovation and new drivetrains is a good thing. I’m sure people were complaining just as much when the 100 series came with the air suspension back in the day. Just hope it proves to hold up and is built with the same Land Cruiser build quality we have known from previous generations. Just currently doesn’t look like a fun engine to work on. Really excited to see it when it hits the dealerships and hope it really does live up to expectations
I have had zero of the issues you described with my '23 SR5 Premium Offroad Tundra. It's been fantastic.

I was pleasantly surprised. Three trim levels with a $55k base model and they ALL have rear e-lockers. :thumb:
problem is, it will be like the fjcruiser. it had such a huge waiting list that the dealers only ordered the fully loaded ones and you couldn't get a base model.

Same, other then some interior rattle issues which is typical on just about every new vehicle, my 23 Crew Max SR5 has been solid.

Friggin' love it fellas. Utility and Class just like the 60, 70 and 80. This is Toyota's course correction for doing it wrong for the last 25 years :sneaky:

Check out what it really looks like - Fits 37's no rub

I was on the fence about this truck until I saw the photoshops @stusic and @r.swany put together... now I want to see how big of tires can get stuffed under the 250 and some cool retro wrap jobs. 😍

If only it came with a manual transmission...
