I'm really liking mine, I am pretty sure you'll like yours too. There area couple things that aren't in the owner's manual that I've discovered. I know Matt did a write up in the latest TT, but I was thinking about writing something myself now that I've been driving it going on a month. I'd speculate that other Toyota hybrids drive like this too, but that's one of the biggest things to get used to is how the hybrid sometimes uses the ICE, sometimes just the electric motor, and sometimes both, but how seamlessly it switches between different drive modes.

I don't see a banner at the top of these pages but I assume the monthly meeting will be at Rooney tomorrow evening, I do plan to be there and certainly let people drive it if they want (lookin' at you Matt LOL!).

I wonder how much changing tire sizes affects the software? Did they re-gear?
Not only hasn't he re-geared, he told me that the software handled traction control exceptionally well even when lifting wheels off the ground... no tire spin to speak of.

Like you don't really need lockers anymore to keep traction and the software's application is smooth and appropriate. Neat stuff!

In my experience, A-Track works better than lockers in some situations, and lockers work better than A-Track in others.

That would be amazing, Jeff!

That would also be amazing! See you tonight!

I agree but with the continued advancements in ATRAC I think ATRAC is winning in more and more scenarios these days. I'd not want a 100 without lockers but on the current models I could see skipping them. Need more seat time thats for sure!

who is the main person in charge of TLCA and Toyota Trails editorial content these days? I've been thinking about doing something for our Alaska trip next summer and the new 250
The editor is Stan Wright @Fishy though he hasn't been on the forum for a while. His email is in the first post of this thread:

The fundamental problem with A-Trac that it can ONLY operate a brake. This is fine if a wheel is in the air, but on a slippery surface like mud, loose rocks or sand, allowing the wheel with less traction to still turn and add to the forward motion of the vehicle, a true locker is superior. I believe that's why all 3 of the new 250 Land Cruisers come with a rear locker as standard equipment.

My new 250 came in over the weekend, and I picked it up last night. After 35 plus years of driving old straight 6 Land Cruisers I am very impressed with the acceleration of this new format. I guess only time will tell if it will live up to the Toyota durability scale.

64.7 MPG in a LAND CRUISER???

Saturday afternoon I filled up at the Safeway fuel station in Evergreen, reset the MPG calculator and then drove down the hill, I took this picture at the intersection of Morrison Road and Kipling. It was running on the electric motor most of the way down.

Nice truck this was my second choice on colors.

On another note for any of the new 250 buyers out there make sure to check you tire pressures. The door sticker calls for 33 PSI and mine were at 49 and the spare was approaching 60. You would think this would be part of the pre-delivery procedure??? Also always good to know that the tire kit from my 1965 FJ40 will work on the 2024 250. Why mess with a good solution i guess.

Mine were at 37. It's interesting that you can look at the tire pressure with the app.
