who knows could be same supplier?
Would Murakami have made the mirrors for the Stout? According to their website they didn't become a supplier to Nissan until 1979.

Funny I just came across this article. I guess now I know who got that Ebay mirror!

The fender mirrors below must be the older part number and the one I pictured before is the "new" part number.

(I really need to track down some good hubcaps, headache rack and flaps!)

Stout compared to Tundra. :)

So glad I found this thread. Stay tuned for a “copy cat” style revival on my stout but with far less skills and knowledge haha. Love this group 👌
@Bartons_Supra If you haven't, join the Facebook group too, and post up a build thread here for us!

@SteveH sent me an oem wheelchock and motivated me to hunt down the rest of the tool kit for the Stout. Thanks Steve!

The Stout tool kit is similar to the FJ25 and early FJ40 kits and comes in a metal toolbox that clips in under the passenger seat with the jack, which is a stubbier version of the 40 jack. (and has a weird, rubber, stripper-thong styled hold down strap that has somehow lasted 60 years! )

It was below zero wind chills here Monday, and its 90 degrees today! Time to dust the old Toyotas off and get them out of hibernation. 😉

Little things getting crossed off the Stout to-do list:

The front bumper has been crooked since I got it. Finally pulled it off this weekend, straightened the mounts and got it back on.

Finally found a battery top bracket that fit this M24. New correct elephant ear wingnuts in place and battery secure.

Finally found a spare tire carrier! Surprisingly hard to find. I guess a lot were taken off to run aftermarket rear bumpers, or just got mangled. Similar to FJ45. One of the mounting brackets was buggered up but I got it welded up and straight. Handle threads were pretty crusty, but I got them working. Going to do a little cleanup under the bed before I mount it up.

Noticed one of the rear wheel cylinders leaked some while sitting over winter. Tearing into those again too. I found a set of Crown cylinders in Japan I'm going to try.

Thanks for the tip! Those are actually RK101 heavy Stout caps for 15 inch wheels. The RK41 Lite Stout like mine used a smaller chrome cap and has a 14 inch wheel. Still searching! ;)
