1993 FZJ80 headliner before and after shots. Professionally steam cleaned (and thus sanitized!) at proper social distance by @FJCDan
and just like that, 20 years of my dirt, gone

I swapped rims/tires on the 40, went from the silver ones to a set of white spokes. White spoke is period correct for the 82, but aside from that I'm still debating which I like better... and is white so much better that it's worth buying a set of tires for, as the ones on them now have some pretty old dates. Third option is I could plasti dip the rims white, which would match the front bezel, they're currently a cream color (cygnus white). what do you guys think?

You're right, that's a tough call! I've always been a steelie/hubcap kind of guy on any kind of old steel so my opinion is a bit biased. But those spokes look sweet! It definitely does make it look more period correct. Because I'm also a cheap ass, if it were me i would keep the grey ones on until new tires are needed and then switch over to the spokes. You can't really go wrong on either one.

only issue with that is I'd then be buying tires for my other little skunkworks project here... which seems to be happy with the grey rims and Toyos for the moment. garage teaser:

busy weekend

When my fuel tank is full, fuel would get sucked into the engine via the Carbon Canister causing it to sputter in my FJ40. RLMS added the stock 40 fuel separator and a check valve to fix

Changed the oil in the 40

Replaced the main battery in my 200 with an Odyssey. It replaced a Sears Platinum (I heard same as Odyssey) that lasted 6 years, 2 in to 100 series and then 200. It hadnt died yet, but when I was in the garage playing with my new Tesla style Android battery it would discharge quickly. Figured it was time

And non Cruiser related- replaced a broken sprinkler head

Tim, your older 40 will run the hubcap wheels and your new one will run the white spokes. Something between your taillights, hardtop, and tire carrier do not jive with a single model year. It’s a 74 with the tire carrier custom mounted? Story?
