So I got my new OEM power steering pump and high pressure line in. Got everything torqued to spec. Filled with new ATF fluid and bled the system like crazy. Got it to the cold level on the dip stick. But now it's making the high pitched whining noise plus a little bit of other chatter. Anyone happen to know if I did something wrong or if over time the sound might go away?

Thanks.

I assume when you said you bled it you are turning the steering wheel back and forth
Sometimes air bibles can take a while
I’m not too familiar with power steering so might be something else

Yeah I cranked the wheel left and right about 100 times to make sure I didn't have any air trapped. Plus I wanted to make sure the pump was primed as best I could.

Checking the wheel fit on the rig.

That looks like Zach’s old 40. Is it? Was wondering what became of it after it got sold again. Someone on pirate did a bunch of work to it too. Unless that’s you?

Did it come with a new gear? It could just be gear whine because the old gear was worn to the mating gear and the new gear is not worn.

When you turn the wheel are you going full lock and holding it for a seconds or so before going full lock the other way?

I had to pull the gear from the old one. No I was just going from right to left. Not holding it at all.

Changed all the front diff studs to the Landtank/Wit's end grade 10.9 type http://absolute-wits-end.com/front-diff-stud-and-nut-kit-8-toyota-diff/ and changed the fuel filter.

Purpose of stud kit is to reduce flex in old studs that lead to paper gasket failure (its already been reinstalled with FIPG on both sides and its not been leaking for a year).

Assembled and installed solo KISS drawer in my 100 over the weekend. Loving a little storage and keeping the ability to have a kennel in there as well.
