Finished knuckle rebuild and new brakes on not-my-rig. Its back on the wheels and hopefully done with axle stuff. Now on to re-sealing the transfer case. Engine should be back soon, so I need to start shopping for a rebuild kit.

So a minor project today, replaced the back hatch struts on my daughters 40. Fun fact the 94 80 series gas struts are the same length as a 1970 40 series rear hatch. Just took a few new fasteners to hold the struts to the 40's brackets and no more getting whacked in the back of the head when you don't get the compression nuts tight enough on the old spring struts.

That's a good idea! I keep a vice grip handy in my '71 to secure the strut so I don't get whacked in the head :ROFLMAO:

Pulled the gray 85 4runner into the shop late last night. Decided it was time to get the interior straightened out. The club member I purchased it from never finished putting it together. The center console was never reinstalled as the 2nd tcase shifters wont allow a factory fit. All the seats were filthy and the rears weren't installed, and the passenger front doesn't fold up or slide as it should. The new vinyl flooring never finished installed. The side panels are broken and rattle. And the rear window switch doesn't work.

So I ripped the interior out.

Then steam cleaned the seats. What an improvement that made. The before and after photos are actually kinda impressive

Been working the vinyl with heat guns but needed a break. Hoping to get the vinyl completed and the seats installed today. Will have to tackle the new interior side panels next week. New ABS aftermarket panels:

I'll just cut a hole through the back wall if it doesnt fit. But yes, should be fine since I dont have any kind of roofrack on it at the moment and can drop it an inch or 2 with the tires if need be. Does anyone else have an Icon lift on their 80? I was really quite surprised at how much taller it sits than the OME.

I have their coils and shocks from the stage 1 kit. Mine is saggin' pretty bad at this point, but I did not feel it was overly tall when it was fresh.

I have modified the cruise switch and added a relay module to make cruise control work.
I added a pin to the PCM to control an auxiliary pusher fan on the AC condenser.
I fixed a broken headlight tab and found a broken screw to drill out (it will be easy). Today I will receive delivery of a machined part to relocate the evaporative purge solenoid from intake top where it was hitting the hood. (The green thing is 1/2 too tall!)
This is like 1,000,000 pokes with a sharp stick. 🦾
