Got everything reassembled after stripping out bed liner. Fixed a lot of smaller things while it was torn apart.

Before and after.

Installed new tires on the 100 for an impending Baja trip. BVB went through the steering and suspension systems yesterday and gave two thumbs up on everything, good and snug. Not bad for a truck that has 163,000 miles on it and has been wheeled. 😎

Disassembled my front 3rd today. Setting up tomorrow. Will see how it goes. This will be my first attempt at setting up gears.

Had 3 of our 4 boys here today doing some PM on our trucks. 3 synthetic oil changes is pricey!! And lying in the snow and ice melt wasn't too fun but always enjoy wrenching with my (and Robin's) boys.

Getting some winter projects done on the 80. Wired up the seat heater for my Scheelmann seat and installed the midland radio at the same time.

Where'd you find the seats?

Swapped my clutch master & slave cylinders for new Aisin parts yesterday. Had some trashed threads on the hose because the flare not got overly flared. @RDub saved my neck with some over-the-phone tech support: make your own thread chaser. I had an old brake line laying around and cut grooves in it. The cutting edge while tightening needs to be about 90 degrees, and the other side needs to be a shallower angle. Took me about an hour with a triangle file to get it dialed in but it worked like a charm and got me back on the road.

I should have just bought a new hose, but … hey we’ve all been there. Maybe everyone knows this truck but I didn’t. It’s a good one to keep in your back pocket.

Finally tore down the L92 that’s going in the 80. Guy I bought it from claimed low oil pressure, but he didn’t seem too mechanically inclined, and I never noticed it while driving the Denali around before pulling the motor. I pulled a few connecting rod caps just to check, and Plastigage reveals that the clearances are nicely within spec.

Next up: a good wash, mild cam, springs, lifters, high volume oil pump, valve lap, all new seals on everything, VVT delete, and then she’s mated to the 6L80 with a HD torque converter and ready for install!

Prepping for CM. Got new Midland MCT 275 vehicle mount and portables installed.
Adjusted valves and reassembled the air intake system. Tested ARB compressor and tire inflation systems.
Looks like just routine checks and camping gear assembly next!

Ohhhh I like that install spot you chose! I never would have thought of that! @Notyourmomslx450 when we get a new radio for my truck maybe we can look at this….

Ha! There are two OEM parts in this box, total price > $1500. $1500 is more than the sale price of at least 4 cars I've owned in my life including 1 BMW, 1 Porsche, 1 Jeep CJ, and 1 or 2 Toyota 4x4's! /oldguyrealizesheold

Any guesses on what I got here? one item should be pretty easy to guess at least.

I've been working on a bunch of stuff to get ready for summer.
Got the rear diff rebuilt with a new ARB seal and new gears (the old ones were chipped turns out...)

Rebuilt the grill. The old one was completely falling apart.

I've been working on repainting all of the armor. Including the gas skid.

Replaced the lights in the dash with red LEDs.

Next I'll be working on repainting the frame as much as possible. Also fixing a crack in the frame by the Panhard bar bracket and steering box (AGAIN).

And I still need to track down the reason behind my airbag light being on. I'm starting to think it's the control module.

Probably going to be removing a bunch of stickers off the rear windows as well.
