Inside sources tell me about a possible engine issue w this one. Also I think the desirable range rovers are pre 96 as the post 96 are a AWD. Still looks like a nice truck.
Talk them down to $2k and then do an LS swap. It is a beautiful truck though and deserves to live on. Newer RR/LR axles are pretty weak though and it would have to stay a street queen to get any real pleasure out of it.

So take the body, put it on better axles, put a different engine in it and probably a transmission and transfer case, redo the electricals while you're at it and also the steering, and then you'll have a good trunk!

So LS7 swap and some unimog 406 portals. Sounds good to me! :weld:
On a serious note, Brandi wants a disco 2 after driving Bill Burke's. 04 seems to be the best year for those trucks.

"Im asking 10k for all four trucks, parts, and the semi trailer. What a deal! Good luck finding this much toyota vintage mini truck stuff in one place you could start your own parts yard or build a couple sweet trucks with all these parts. Again i am not interested in selling any parts or trucks individually this sale is for all of it. Trucks are located in sedalia co. Cash only may trade for a good running vehicle thats equal in value or cash and your vehicle that runs and that is not junk. I live about an hour away from where the trucks are located so please have the money and be serious about buying all the trucks. I do not have much time to meet people to look at the trucks but if your patient i will be available in the comming weeks to show the trucks. Call or text text is better 303 five 14 six 979"

I remember seeing this a year or two ago. I’m guess his unwillingness to sell separate is keeping him from closing a deal

I have no clue about how to tell good years of Rovers from bad, but some get their bell rung pretty hard...

I’m going to need to see the teeth marks on a pencil to confirm prior ownership.
I vagally recall the story behind this FJ40 from a post at least 5 plus years ago, maybe on MUD? I recall the owner did buy it from John Denver's estate and there was proof shown (maybe a picture?). Not sure why the current owner is not showing this proof as it would certainly help the value. ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIIIIGH...COLORADO.

I think this one belonged to Jason Carlisle? It was original paint back then as I recall.

There's some doubt cast about that on Mud.

The dash paint has a lot of orange peel going on. I've never owned a 40 - did the original paint look like that or is it the tell of a respray? I don't see any bolts painted over, or overspray/tape lines on any molding, so maybe it's original.

Looks like the same truck, based on the LR quarter panel damage. Jason sent me this pic a while back when that 40 was still his...

I'm not a 40 expert either but I remember a video where Jonathan Ward pointed out orange peel as a tell-tale sign of a true survivor. That and the spot welds on the tub. I guess Toyota didn't put a lot of effort in making it high-gloss due to the fact that they were selling them as utility vehicles?
