My fix to the intermittent wiper delay, bypass the current one, use 80s aftermarket tech with sales receipt to boot to make it legit. Swapping out the stock to a newer, non-OEM instead of bastardizing it with the intermittent stock from the modern Toyotas.

Was inspired by a BAT listing, they used the Equus model but I can’t find that so this will do.

Also going through the instrument toggles, switching to LED 5mm Neo Wedges.

Nice and bright like my sunny disposition.

Might as well repaint the ashtray, get the cabin prepped for repaint. I’m too lazy to remove it, but not lazy enough to mask it to death.

I'm getting a lot of therapeutic miles out of doing this work, and I'm also learning along the way, which is a huge plus. I plan to remove the entire interior to sand and repaint the floor, and if I get that far, I might do the whole cabin. We'll see if I can get brave enough to do that. Trying to figure out the sequence of things since I want to pay for the exterior repaint eventually.

Damn going all in on the dash!

Interior removal to get the floor is not that bad of a project. Strips pretty quick. Im glad I did the kilmat and sound deadening while I had it out. Also good for peace of mind knowing there is no rust on the floor.

I might as well; the color variation will drive me up the wall if I don't correct it.

Your past posts are the primary source of motivation for me on the floor! The only thing I'd have to do is, since my budget (got blown up on the mechanical work) won't allow for an interior and exterior repaint. The plan is to sand the whole thing, prime, filler, and single-stage it before adding the sound damper and carpet. My dilemma is whether I should do this before or after the exterior repaint.

I would pull the carpet first to be 100% sure there is no rust to treat before the repaint. I had some hiding around the rear seat upright pivot brackets.

If you remove the sound deadening dry ice is the way to go. One its cold it comes off super easy, and its pretty satisfying.

Ventilated seats in a 60? Wow, I think that might be a first!

The fellas at the shop once told me there is a guy in Yemen who sells stuff, so I thought I'd give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. The Thai version of the large oil filter cans from the UAE, and a brand new A/C condenser from Binmahmoodstores. Those people are the most professional sellers ever, even better than some here in the U.S.

I have no business doing body & paint work. I knew it’s an art, but am clueless when it comes to the filler feathering. I got one side painted after patching, primer and sanding. It’s overwhelming because I took it on with zero practice and I regret that decision.

Hoping the grit was right and I did enough to not cause the filler to come up. Fudge.

Turned out, I didn’t cut it enough so now I have to wet sand again to redo. I managed to bend my gloved box door, add it to the list of thing that went wrong this week and I’m tired, boss.

And the horror. I wanted to take my mind off work last night, focus on this, was using the contour to do some cleaning, somehow wedged it against the corner… and bent. 🤦

Found a replacement door, ordered it, went back inside, and curled up on the sofa in the fetal position, so much for not stressing.

Woke up with a renewed sense of anger that I must finish this task or else. Shiny, waiting for it to cure before applying the clear coat.
