If brakes are an issue convert to a later model disk front end and convert all your fittings out to the larger 10 mill size. You won't find any of the old school lines anymore and will have to have everything custom built

Wow, that is a cool family truck!
I think by now it's evident that you've found "your people", welcome!

I'm going to rebuild the system. Finding seals and rebuild kits are very hard. Haha.
Did you call Cruiser Outfitters yet?

If I'm reading that right
Could be 49k or 149k or 249k or 349k. With 5 digits you never can tell without checking mileage when ownership is transferred and recorded on the title.

So the question for you would have had to be determined by whatever your family recorded or said. Since it was a plow truck its whole life 49k seems legitimately possible.

But that's also the underlying reason equipment use is logged in hours rather than miles. It might have spent 4 hours plowing snow but only travel 5 miles. So 49k in it's life might have the equivalent wear and tear as a highway used FJ25 that has 249k miles on it.

But even that would be exceptionally low IMO for a 60 year old truck. There's 10 year old 4Runners with that kind of mileage on them!

Rob Meredith is your guy, if you can get in touch. Also Mike D. (@treerootCO) has an FJ25 and Ige (@nuclearlemon) had Annie the 1962 FJ40 and would be great resources to know.

Regards disc brakes, I think having ball-and-claw would require finding an axle from a later FJ40 to swap first.

I have a paper copy of the above. Rob M. (who owns that 25) gets first dibs.

It may be worth reaching out to Proffitt's Resurrection Land Cruisers, I know JP may have some 25 parts stashed away in the warehouse, or know of modern replacement parts.

You could also reach out to Nolan Grogan... aka #89nolder on the instagram.. If they exist, he would likely know where to get your parts. Or if nothing else he could make you famous for a little while..
