Yeah they all come with like 18T. I bought the 54T but like marco said some people strip them. I have not personally seen any with the real paws have issues but i guess there are some people. There are also chinese knock offs that I've heard strip and have a 50-50 shot of no issues. For most the 36T is plenty and cuts the Degrees before engagement in half
18 T / 20° engagement | 36 T / 10° engagement | 54 T / 6.6° engagement

Check this gem....

Don't diss it, Wes' retro Fat Chance is totally bitchin.

/QUOTE]

His Fat is . And admittedly given a choice I'd consider a set of turquoise hubs to match my Yeti paint. But its definitely not going to dictate my hub choice. Black is fine. But I'm sure to bring some bling to the nipples. There's a quote for someone :D

What’s wrong w bling? ;)

Ill throw in my 2 cents.

Flow rims are great for a lot of people, but their new rim profile on the MK3 goes against everything. They made it flatter, more rectangular instead of triangulated and they simply dont hold up to heavy smash biking (Your new 5.5 will love smashing through rocks) I was buckling and flat spotting rims before getting any major rim dents. The seam pulls apart easy too.

I had been on Flows since they came out. Probably 8 wheelsets over the years with hope hubs. Always great and never had any big dents or rim failures. Then the MK3's came out and I went through 5 rims in a summer. Did my riding progress? Yes, but that is too many rims.

Im running I9 on everything now. Enduro's on my SS and Gravity's on the trail bike. Im extremely hard on things and havent even put a mark in the rear rim on the I9 Gravity rim.

I also run Cush Core tire inserts front and rear and its the bees knees. I highly recommend at least a rear insert if you are riding any high speed rocky stuff or resort riding. Last year I went through 20+ tires racing, and after running Cush Core, Im actually taking off tires because they are worn out, not because of gaping holes.

PS, That Yeti with all the Hope parts is my buddy Tom's. He takes care of his stuff and I know that bike was barely ever ridden. He's moving to New Zealand for a bit, so he's just getting rid of extra bikes. Probably wouldnt sell it otherwise.

LOL. Speaking of wearing out tires. Positive indication that the life is consumed, sealant leaking from the carcass. This will sometimes happen on brand new tires since I don't spend the money for tubeless ready tires but in this case obviously the sidewalls are just done.

just buy tubeless. tire is not even close to worn and u probably used enough stans to seal it to make up the difference in tubless ready... :lmao:

I tend to more hover over the trails, being so flowy and fast you might say it's really flying low. Those were gratis from arthog. Free > not free. :-)

I put them on I think last spring or so, maybe a few month. I do honestly find that lightweight non-tubeless tends to fail fast on the sidewalls.

There is a lot of truth to the never turning thing. I am a weenie going downhill. A slow, old weenie.

Sidewalls are not always a good sign of wear. The new Double Down Maxxis sidewalls show cords super fast... this tire has about 3 weeks of riding on it (Everyday) :thumb:

How the heck are you riding everyday? Stud! Trails here in Grand Junction have been on and off wet the past few days and we got a bit more graupel today.

I did get to ride in nice 60s and sunshine last week in Phoenix. That didn't suck.

Yep....Tom's bike is mine now :) I bought it from him a few weeks ago! I went over to look at his Open UP bike and left with his mountain bike :) Wasn't looking for a mountain bike, but Oh Well...couldn't pass up the sweetness, and you are right....it was BARELY used. New Yeti with hope for a little over $4K....couldn't say no to that.

It has a Huck Norris protector in the rear tire.

Truth

I always buy new bike tires, tho i like them better after 5-600 miles when they are worn in.

cruiser tires, I've only ever bought 1 new set of swampers and a new set of bfg muds that i run now. Wife's cruiser always gets new tires.

I don't really consider 33x10.5 pizza cutters tho.

Well, I installed this tire right before my Canada trip in October... Rode everyday for 3 weeks in Bellingham, Sqaumish, Pemberton, Whistler, then headed to Bend Oregon for Single Speed World Champs and hit Portland and Moab on the way home. :thumb:

Ive only gotten out a couple time in the last few weeks. Trying to get my shop up to speed.
