Are you a medical expert?
No I'm not. But I bet you believe everything the CDC says. Guess Where I copied this from..... Hmmmm.....

Except for the last little bit. Life experience, gathering of knowledge through many sources.

There wont be a vaccine for covid-19 for almost a year. Clinical trials will happen to make sure no one turns into a zombie or blows up.

Do your research, it available for everyone at all times, dont listen to the media, I should have just posted in chit chat.

I just want to make sure the advise you seem to be so opinionated on wasn’t something I was missing. Thanks.

Hey man! I’m sorry it’s that time stuff like this has to happen. Wedding are the start of 2 people’s life’s together and it would be hard to celebrate with what may be coming at us in the next couple of weeks!

Thanks buddy. I appreciate it.

I think we're going to try and still get the paperwork done and do a very small ceremony on the beach here in Monterey, CA with our local friends on our date (17 April) and then do a bigger party/ceremony on 9 October (tentative pending the whole world not descending into a Mad Max-style scenario).

We're really thankful that all our vendors and our venue are being extremely chill about moving the wedding to the fall. Our wedding party for the most part is going to be able to come in the fall although a few of the bridesmaids are going to switch in and out based on who is having a baby when. All the groomsmen should be able to make it work in the fall.

One silver lining in all of this is that we just had our first group Zoom call with my dad's side of the family. That's impressive considering my dad's older brother and sister are both in their 80s and his younger sister is in her mid 60s.

FWIW; As of 2 days ago now Covid is no longer considered airborne precautions. Just droplet, and contact. So surgical mask, gloves, gown, and Eye pro.
At least this is according to Denver Health's daily changing protocol.
Well that would be good news but I don't believe it. There are plenty of stories of suspected infection in that manner. Also the Chinese authorities with trucks and backpack gizmos shooting white fumes out in the streets and offices. The only point of that would be to disinfect the air itself. I read a few theories that the virus can travel onboard particulates of pollution in a city, and we all know how pollution in China is. Italy also has the lowest air quality of any Euro country. Speaking of Italy, they officially declared that anyone over 80 or suffering serious health issues will no longer be provided with any lifesaving care :( Everyone says it's like a war. Updated death rate in Italy is 9% today.

It's good your PPE includes eye protection. In the early days many Chinese healthcare workers were infected because they had all PPE except no eye protection. I was talking to my friend who is Denver PD and they have a full PPE kit but no goggles either, I offered him some of mine.

An airborne illness is not the same as one borne by air. You won’t catch this by sharing air with someone who is positive, but you may catch it if you are in close proximity to said person.

I think I heard that stat on the Stephan Molyneux podcast but I can't say for sure. This source shows the viral concentrations after 5 days are 1,000 times higher in the upper respiratory tract than SARS: http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/03/study-highlights-ease-spread-covid-19-viruses and presumably the difference in concentration grows with time. The reason it matters is because combined with the fact that covid19 also has asymptomatic spread (SARS does not) that it is incredibly contagious. The estimates put the R0 at 3-4 but that's 3-4 with people taking precautions and wearing PPE I bet in the real world it's much higher. 7% death rate should scare anyone let alone combined with asymptomatic spread, up to 20 days incubation period, etc etc.

Haha, wow. You called my friend an idiot on the last page and now look at you. Got any more snake anecdotes?
Sure! A snake crawling around your feet and up your side feels cold and kinda smooth. This was a prairie rattler that had recently eaten a mouse or something. FWIW - the Italian healthcare system is a $hitshow any day of the week. The up side of that is an emergency transport from the autostrada to the ER, CT and overnight stay is only 850 euros! Wanna guess what that would be in the US home of the most expensive healthcare system in the world?

The San Francisco Bay Area is in "shelter in place" until at least 7 April 2020. That's 6.7 million people.: https://www.sfchronicle.com/local-politics/article/Bay-Area-must-shelter-in-place-Only-15135014.php

I expect we'll see that for the greater LA and San Diego area, and probably Sacramento in the next day or two. I'm a couple counties south of the SF Bay shelter in place order.

My favorite local coffee shop just laid off all of their employees. I believe basically every other bar/restaurant/cafe will do the same in the next day or two in Monterey. It was bad enough with no tourists coming but now that localcs can't go out, it's going to be really bad.

I expect the SF Bay area is just the beginning of the quarantine orders.

A buddy in Oregon just got the word from his company that he can't travel via plane or outside his immediate area until at least April 30th including vacation. Punishment is he's fired if he does it and gets caught. I'm guessing a lot of companies will be doing that in the next few days.

I’m not sure how they can do that. But I bet a lot of companies will try to do things like this.

Exactly, I expect all major cities on the coasts will be locked down before the end of next week. Have you seen that Spain is using drones to monitor people breaking the quarantine rules?
