My wife was one of the first 10 or so employees there, right about the time they were breaking ground. We got a few awesome perks back in the day.

Ive been eyeing this Carisma Coyote that is very obviously modeled after the Stout. Does anyone know anything about the company?

WPL Makes an 80 Series RC truck too. I have the WPL Toyota pickup truck and after a few mods it runs great and is pretty bombproof. I'm into it for maybe $250 total including upgraded ESC, extra batteries, linkages, a couple sets of tires, extra wheels, a nice programmable controller, etc - heck I even found a guy 3D printing a tire carrier bumper. These are slightly smaller scale than the RC crawlers you usually see (which are 1:10) - the WPL stuff is advertised as 1:16. It's probably closer to 1:12-14 in reality.

This thing comes as a kit only, with plastic-linkage & metal-linkage versions. The metal linkages are the way to go.

Who's the local RC guru here? Can I Swap the body of the "Stout" onto the Chassis of this 80?
Doesn't look like it. The Coyote seems like about a 1:10 or 1:12 scale and the FMS is 1:18. Looking at specs the wheelbases are 285 and 155mm, respectively

Bodies are generally swappable on same scale trucks. Not the case here.

All these RTR (ready to run) trucks will probably burn out their steering servo and motor quickly with any hard use. Plan on upgrading them. Other weak links will eventually show themselves like driveshafts, gears, and axles. I’ve probably got $600-700 in each of our Axial trucks to make them solid.

Not a guru but I have some experience w rc body swaps. It really depends on wheelbase and scale. Seems like we need to revive the RC crawler thread:hill:
