The Subaru doesn't have a temp gauge (only a too-late light), so it ended up with a blown the engine. Now that it's fixed, I had been meaning to add a temp gauge, but when I got mah wife a new head unit for xmas, I picked up a wireless obdII reader. Can you set any kind of alarm limits on the temp for the app? And will this still work while you're actually using the stereo?- I actually had a similar set up quite a few years ago with a chinese android headunit in my old bmw and it worked pretty well but I never used it that often. But it was nice to be able to scan codes as soon as a CEL pops up on the dash. I haven't played around with it too much, but there are options for alarms. And you can play the stereo while using it (but they can't be on the screen at the same time afaik)
I really like the one I put in my truck (got mah wife the same one). Android based cheap jobby, but got the rear view camera and the dash cam. No OBDII on the 80, so that's not really relevant.
