Yep and then you change how much gear oil how often? $$$

But then you see it and yeah, kinda want a Tacoma just for the portals... you know dissent put a set on the 250 already and fits 40's.

That ARB bumper is pretty sharp!
Does the Dissent 250 have them? It totally makes sense that Ben would do it. Whew, that would be a tough check to pen without it also being a tax write-off!

Apparently they call for oil changes every 3k miles or after trips with water crossings.... So approximately when you rotate the tires.

I swapped the front grill for a TRD Pro like. The light bar puts out a tremendous amount of light. I wasn't sure about the Raptor lights and figured I could just leave them off if I don't like them

On the ARB Bumper, I am concerned there is no place for a front license plate. That is the law here in Colorado. Wondering if I should cancel it

Thoughts?

He does. Saw a Reddit post of him tractoring through the snow in the 250

My engine builder sent me this photo yesterday. Said it’s the 2nd he has seen. 2024 Tacoma. What do you see wrong here?

No way, seriously?

So the 15th principle in the The Toyota Way is "Randomly pull parts from bins?"

Can you explain it to me like I'm five years old what's wrong with it?

Well, if you really wanted to poka-yoke it..... It should have 4 of the same valves per cylinder. Having different intakes and exhausts is a disaster waiting to happen, its not like its a performance engine after all.

The head is machined for two intake and two exhaust valves but this one got 1 intake, 3 exhaust installed. The upper left valve doesn't match the seat.
yup and they are clearly labeled "I" and "E"

That's interesting. The valves on the 22R are different, but that's one each per cylinder. The 1GR has 4 per cylinder and uses larger intake. What does the 1FZ or other Toyota engines have?

I might suggest the 2024 4 cylinder with turbos and all of it are kinda of high performance, relatively speaking. They do need to get a lot out of the engines and field repair in a dirt floor shop in the Outback isn't terribly high on Toyota's priority anymore.

I haven't had a front plate on my 80 since 2018.
Never been pulled over for it.... now to find some wood to knock on.

I ran the first 4 months in my 250 no front plate. With my proximity to NM I was not too worked about it down here, NM does not require a front plate. I installed my front plate before taking the Christmas trip to the front range.

On my 80 I run the front plate with a fairlead mount. That should work with an ARB or any other "armor" bumper. Dissent has a flip up option for their bumper. I suspect ARB ships with some sort of solution. My 80's did, I just went a different route personally.

@Romer, you could always bolt the plate to the skid plate below the fairlead. I don't know how the law it written specifically but it would be "there". I've see others put it on the roof rack fairing as well.

I can't think of any automotive engine that has the same size intake and exhaust valves. But honestly I've never put much thought into it.

Every motor I’ve ever torn down has had different size valves whether it’s 2 or 4 values.
What motors have the same size valves?

I should have updated this. Slee has a bracket that attaches to the fairlead and can be removed when you need to use the winch. I don't plan on a winch right now so that works
