A little bit of this and a little bit of that. Since I have my rig set up mechanically the way I want it, now I'm doing some of the creature comfort stuff and silly bruh-landing crap.

Put in a 14" 3000 lumens spot/flood combo light bar from harbor freight on the front shortbus. Used the Slee mounting bracket too.

I installed a new Kenwood double din radio that has both Apple car play and Android auto which is great. It's not wireless but still pretty nice. It also has a siriusxm tuner so I have that too in one stereo unit instead of a bunch of stuff cluttering up the shifter area.

I also installed a new Yaesu FTM-3100 single band ham radio just under the dash. This has a max power output of 65 watts. A little bit more them my 5 watt hand-held.

I bought some interior trim pieces from our friends up in Idaho, Delta Vehicle Systems, to replace a bunch of old, cracked and discolored plastic. Got all new door handle insert covers. A new driver door handle/latch because the one I have now, the spring broke and now sort of flops and doesn't stay tight against the door. The last trim item is the steering colum cover. Mine has been trashed for almost close to 10 years and has just been held together by either glue or tape.

Lastly and the best item I bought and yet to install is the OEM hand throttle. This will come in handy when winching.

Welll…. Thinking it blew up. Starting making very bad knockings yesterday.
Cleared a bit of room in the garage to fit her in there. Was going to start my next round of mods and Cruise Moab trip build goals. But the 80 likes to dictate the direction of the build I’m learning.

Got rid of the dumb subwoofer/cd changer/center console from the LX450 and added a LC center console, USB charger, power switch for Weboost and 3D printed cup holder.

Installed the rebuilt rear third member this weekend in the first gen. Went up to 37's and smoked the main shaft in the spartan locker. The spartan was only rated to 35's so I went with a new Detroit locker instead of repairing the spartan (spartan is repairable and up for grabs if anyone wants it). I kept the same Nitro Gear 4.88's but did all new seals and bearings.

Also did the Trail Gear rear disk brake conversion kit since I had the axel torn apart. The kit was pretty straight forward. Had to have a shop press off the old backing plate from the drum brake set up though. The stopping performance is night and day to say the least!!! Will make a huge difference on the trails.

The start of something potentially messy! Power steering flush then clean the internal screen.
I need to do that to my 4Runner

Wonder if somthing like tha is causing my occasional CDL delay engaging. Always works once things warm up

That's what mine was doing but the opposite. I ended up having to replace the CDL actuator with a new OEM unit. It would not engage once the truck heated up. If the truck was cold it would lock but once the truck was up to operating temp the CDL would not engage.

New rear rotors and pads. Realized the scraping sound was actually a little bend in the dust shield, so pulled that back too. Did a pad/rotor brake in. Adjusted parking brake.

Also put on some wheel spacers I had sitting around for a couple months. What are folks opinions on lock tite on these. Spider trax says yes, but Bora says they void warranty. My thought is I will do the recommended torques and check after 50 miles. Don't want to not be able to remove in the case of a trail repair.

Also I think I can actually tell now that the rear axle is a little offset due to lift in back. Anyone run an adjustable panhard bar only? I just put new trailing arms on with the axle swap.

I don't know if there can be a right answer. If you ask 10 wheel spacer users you'll probably get 5 do and 5 don't. But I don't see why you'd need Loctite on spacers any more than you'd need it on the lugnuts in the first place. Regular wheel studs and lugnuts are subject to dissimilar metals (e.g. alloy wheels on steel) and heating without loosening.

My guess is the recommendation to use it is based on people not checking them periodically more than an expectation of them backing off. You can inspect your lugnuts any time you want and they get a routine re-torque every time you rotate your tires. Seems to me you'd fine not using Loctite as long as you remember to hit the wheel spacers nuts with a torque wrench when you rotate, too.

It seems excessive to use red Loctite in any case. Clean threads and blue Loctite should accomplish the never-think-about-it outcome.
