I don’t think there is any other job on the truck where I appreciate quality tools as working on brakes. Specifically compression fittings. No nuts were rounded during this repair

Cornwell Flare nut wrench set.

Nice @J1000! What are you using to attach them to the windows?

No pics, but installed the steering gear (again), new power steering pump, new tie rod ends and redid the brake lines from the master cylinder to the frame that I wasn't happy with when I deleted the ABS late last year. Now the long road of getting the air out of the steering system...

I did the drag link ends today. "How hard can it be?" Waaaay too F'in hard. Have tube inserts and will be pushing that plan up the list for sure.
And yeah, going fishing in the morning, busting the torch, big wrenches, and cheater bars out in the afternoon. Hopefully they won’t fight me too bad (famous last words).

New driver side cv axle and diff output seal on the taco. Trying to get the truck ready for the Ghost Town Run coming up.

I had issues with my replacement bands on my attempt to reboot my old half shaft and was tired of dealing with this, so I went new OEM. Also had issues with getting the correct diff output seal and metal wiper thing in the end of the cv (pictured below) which added to frustration and decision to go new cv.

also successfully attempted quantum mechanics with my local discount tire store when I wanted to swap wheels between trucks. The idea took a bit of re-explanation to multiple employees but they pulled it off without needing a diagram😀😬

this is so I could remove the wheel spacers on the taco to clear the UCAs. And I like the beater soccer mom look the oe taco rims gives the 80 currently

You weld those into the end of the tie rod or what? Just a way to get fresh threads?

Into some DOM tubing. Typically because it is stronger, but in the Cruisers case because the stock one allows water/dirt/crap to get inside and makes your life miserable when you need to replace the TRE's.
