I picked up a 2" spare tire receiver from Tim (Gamiviti) last week and finally got around to installing it. I wanted to use it for my new Waterport tank i got from costco. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but will do soon.
I scrubbed the underside of my 4r with snow. I made sure to pack as much under the body as I could. The results of the cleanse were evident on the garage floor this morning!
that looks pretty cool, Chewy... still sticks out kinda far but way better than if it were coming from the bumper's receiver hitch. good use of the spare thingamabob! Looks like you could chop 3" off the attachment to get it to go in further?
Hi everybody, my name is Alex Bingham. I wired in 2 9" pro comp offroad lights, next I'm planning a cb radio install, skid plates and rock sliders. Any advise on what CB set up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and happy trails!
Picked up a screw a while back in the tread block of the Ko2 on the Lexus (apparently) and finally heard a slow leak today when it was covered in snow. Kinda like the soapy water trick but easier to do since nature takes care of the moisture. It was losing about 8 pounds of pressure every 2-3 weeks for about 2 months and have just been topping it up, but I’m glad I found the leak!
In December I did the Tundra 231 brake upgrade, a friend showed me how to re-anneal the copper washers on the banjo bolts. Well I still have a slight leak at the banjo bolt that connects the brake line to the caliber. It also appears that the banjo bolt is to long for the tundra caliber since I had to put the new copper washers and the old annealed washers to make a tight fight. Picture is when I first discovered the issue, currently doesn't leak to the extreme showing in the picture. Any advice should be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I picked up a 100 Series Trailer Brake Bracket from this guy on Etsy. It says it works with a 100 series but I had to make a few adjustments to get it to work. It's actually a really nice bracket and you still have access to the manual lever at the bottom, sits level.
High clearance cut my tacoma yesterday. Just a grinder with cut off wheel, no straight edge line prep. Eye balled it mostly to get rid of a giant dent and because I had nothing better to do.
Unfortunately, nobody was hurt. The driver of the Simi had his air brakes freeze? Not sure but he crawled out from under the drive wheels of his rig, dead stopped in the right lane. Not the shoulder mind you, in white out conditions to which I couldn't see more than 100 yards ahead. My speed was 25-30 my air bag didnt deploy. I'm super pissed.
Took a drive down to Blue Mesa Res yesterday. Dropped the 4runner off with Jeremiah Proffitt. Proffitt's Resurection Land Cruisers will be installing Sliders and a Eazi-Awn roof rack that I got from Paul May of Equipt Expedition Outfitters. Both will be painted to match the front bumper/cladding.
Was really surprised how little traffic we had on 285 the whole drive. Left in the morning and was back downtown by 4:30 pm.
