Lets do the body mount chop at the same time!!!

You may need to show me that one. So far I am only rubbing on the lower end cap of the running board, which I presume goes away when install sliders? So I may be ok? Otherwise if we need to chop off and weld something I'm all for it.. :weld:

I put a new voltage regulator in the 40. Got a solid state VR from ebay, the gauge needle is much more stable now, and I had a surging idle when the engine was nice and warmed up. Sasha stated his warm idle problem corrected when he changed out his VR, hoping this will do the same for me.

Do you have a link to the solid state regulator on ebay?

Over the last week, custom square tube rock sliders, with the invaluable help of TacoDane, I swapped out my open 4.10 diffs for 4.88 Detroit TruTrac IFS and a factory 80 E-locker in back! Swapping on manual hubs next.

Thanks Daine!!

In the last week I installed a roof rack, solar panel, CB, interior LED's, and got new tires. Almost forgot how fun Cruise Moab season is...

Looking awesome Tim! :thumb:

Well if you do it right, we shape and weld a filler plate. Cutting the piece and touching up with paint is quick and easy.

Adding to the thread, I set up my Tesla Android screen for a drive with my daughter...these things are awesome.

The GX is a popular vehicle these days...my version has drilled/ slotted front rotors and rotopax mounts for the rear for a storage box and first aid kit.

Rear gate will get a drop down molle system/ table this weekend.

Rear bumper is in powder coating Tuesday.

Nice color. Rachel really likes her GX. a 100 series 5 speed drivetrain with a narrower width, really sweet vehicle

Hadn't thought of that, why would I?
If your running trails where sliders are needed I would imagine that you could take off the mud flaps or let a rock take them off for you as you roll down the face of it.

Looks awesome, have you been able to tune it up and drive it yet? I have always wondered what mpg gains and or throttle response it would give the old 2f. I'd love your first hand experience and thoughts?

Also, what is the big steel plate for hanging of the side? Turbo?

Thanks drew! I have about 50 miles on the setup. It selfs tunes off a wideband o2 sensor. It runs smoother than I have ever had it run before. At this point spark control is still mechanical which is ok, but if I can get timing controlled by the ecu, it will run even better.

Plate it for the throttle cable and oil filter relocation. No turbo. But that would be a fun project!

I’ll have to run a full tank of gas through it to update on MPG!

Worked my butt off for 6 hours removing the supports from the front to the back hoops of the roll cage, and replaced them with a pair that didn't stand up so tall...When I finally got the hardtop, the supports were too high to fit the fiberglass cap to the sides. I cut them, and moved them to make the space to fit the top, but the rollcage wasn't safe...at all...

Removed them and put a new set in that were the right height to fit the top, and now is safe and secure,

Looking at it, you can't see any work was done. Not very sexy, but safe.

Running topless for the summer!
