He listened to his wife and his friends :p
Funny that it happened just after Lisa's 3rd gen starts having issues, she started getting a front end clunk on Slaughterhouse and she also tore a CV boot. Guess they can't have two solid vehicles at once lol.

a combo of things. new heims on all suspension and steering components. new panhard bar, and draglink and tierod. also adjusted the F out of the steering box. Also (still needed) new tires and some new wheels too.
Stole my brothers wheels and tires to see how it would drive since his truck is tore down in my garage (since early Sep). Drives like it's on rails now!

A wise old timer once told me about old cars is to fix things until you find the one thing broken you can live with and leave it. You will *never* have a completely functional vehicle so if you fix that nuisance rattle in the dash you'll throw a rod.

That is so true. There is an acceptable level of non functionality. If you try to get it 100% functional you are begging for trouble. :hill:

Have the squeaky clutch pedal, finally got parts in and have time to start the clutch pedal rebuild with new bushings, new spring, etc.

Pulled everything out today, and it turned out worse than I thought, pretty sure that return spring wasn't doing a whole lot for me.

Going to see what some metal shops have to say about fixing this stuff, hopefully don't have to replace the whole bracket.

Yeah, I doubted this particular sage to my own serious peril, too.

All I did was fix the broken rear window latch!
My lower control arm bushings turned into lbjs, rack and pinion, tierod ends, all new bushings on rear for everything but the body mounts (could use those too!), front shocks, new trac bar, new upper rear links, and alignment (that I unaligned 4 days later). It seems that the parts last a long time but all go at around the same mileage!

How many miles on it? Looks like you may find some metal dust with a magnet under that pedal!

I think it's a brake pedal spring from a taco. That torsion spring is basically impossible to get back in without taking out the whole pedal assembly. This is easier to do and frankly makes the clutch feel better. That OEM spring is a case of overengineering imo

283k miles. And yes I'm sure its been wearing for quite a while, I'm guessing somebody before me heard a pop and was like "that was weird, oh well"

I've heard of this mod, I would need to read more about it. At this point I'm sort of committed to doing it the OEM way, but maybe if the bracket can't be fixed this would be another good option.
I committed to the OEM way at first too and ate crow when I spent an hour or more trying to get that damn thing back in without removing the pedal assembly. I think the spring is like 10 bucks at the dealer, I just ate my losses on the bushings which I half tore up anyway trying to get the spring back in.

Yeah I can see that trying to put the spring in without removing the bracket would be really hard. The top electrical connector was hard to get too, I had to eventually use a pick tool and reach way up there.

Got my parts back today, Boney Metal Works in Loveland fixed all my problems, including a huge crack in the pedal bracket that I hadn't even noticed before.

OEM clutch setup feels super weird now, I can sort of see what they were going for since it's a lot easier to hold down the pedal with that torsion spring, but the transition point feels much different so I can also see why people prefer the spring delete mod. I'll drive it for a while and see what I think in the end, but at least it's up and running again!

J1000 is welding my sliders up today. Going to take them home and get them painted up after this and he'll burn them to my frame hopefully tomorrow.
