My 'rig' at the moment is an '09 RX 350 I bought for my daughter. She commissioned me to find a replacement vehicle for her, since I'm a 'car guy'. Been doing lots of catch-up PM and detailing.

The seat heater (driver's) did not work. After extensive troubleshooting, I found that the heater element in the bottom pad shorted and burned through. I bought a junkyard seat, cut off the heater pad (sewn to the seat bottom leather) and swapped it into my seat, with a new eBay leather seat bottom cover. The seat now heats, is comfy, and looks better.

Way too much time and hours, but that's what fathers do for their kids...

How many hours did it take you for the timing belt? That's on my maintenance list this summer.

I already smile driving our 470 since it's a downright supercar compared to the other two. That SC is making me drool.
Just finished putting the front end together a few minutes ago. I started at 9am lol but I've been doing a bunch of other stuff at the same time unrelated so I've taken a lot of breaks. It's the easiest timing belt I've done but getting the AC compressor loose was really hard. Not looking forward to putting it back.

Three Wheel Ben? If so, he was loafing if it took him three hours. 😜
Swapped out the oem radiator in the 100 with a Robbie recommended KoyoRad replacement today. Went smoothly, exact fit, although it did take me a little longer than three hours,. Takes me longer to get up and down around the trucks these days. But I do know that it was done right. 👍

Well, I was foiled by the Aussies they forgot to send me a key piece to my supercharger install so for now I'm waiting. Unfortunately I didn't realize until I had already pulled my intake manifold and idler pulley so now I'm debating whether it's worth it to go back or just wait.

I ended up getting my intercooler heat exchanger mounted and painted my valve covers as well as all new radiator, shroud, fan etc.

Replaced Lower ball joints and front diff output needle bearing with solid sleeve from ECGS on the Taco. Chasing a mystery clunk and throwing parts at it. Old LBJs were Moog loaded control arms installed 10k ago and had some excessive play. Due to cost point and availability, Moog problem-havers were installed again. (Forgive me @DaveInDenver ) I guess this means I have another 10k to save up for aftermarket LCAs.😛

cleaned up some related parts and replaced a worn tie rod with a less worn tie rod. Sadly, still chasing that clunk.😕

So, back in Nov I changed rear brake Pads, kind of glad I did. Had a really bad wobble between 38-45 mph, just prior to CM -22 ( towing a camper going over and down passes BP issues). Yesterday, by expertise of @PhatFJ, threw couple things at it. New tie rod ends all around, added zirks to bottom ends. Changed to new rotors, brake pads, bearings and set preload. Has made a World of difference so far. Ok, got to change steering wheel from 11:00 to 12:00. So far I’m really happy, little more time and braking in pads will tell.

Long Cruiser is getting prepped to drive to Seattle.
Greased 10 driveshaft zerks
Lowered three carrier bearings to inspect. All good. Reattached.
New cap and rotor. Was already smooth. Now smoother.
New stop lamp switch (brakes). Cruise control works now.
Replaced all accessible vacuum hoses.
Replaced hoses to evap canister.
New head unit ($117 at Amazon!) and cleaned up miscellaneous wiring.
Secured a few things in the engine compartment that were bouncing around.
Ordered new seat covers. I was fine with the leopard print but Anna wanted a different aesthetic....

Air in tires (they use a lot of air!)

Pro tip: Do not stick your hand in dark places. Luckily here I did not:

@Inukshuk what head unit did you go with? I've been looking for a low cost upgrade now that my hillbilly Bluetooth setup with a tape deck and adapter has finally died.

I rebuilt the front axle on the 81 this weekend. I replaced both birfields, and drive flanges with the longer '94+ ones. I didn't do the bearings because I did a partial rebuild when I replaced my rotors 2 years ago.

The long side axle separated from the birfield effortlessly, and the short side took me 3 hours and a grinder to remove. Super annoying. The splines on the birf side, got chewed up a bit. I filed the damaged splines and made it smooth. I figured it'll be fine and will be future Angelo's problem when and if it becomes an issue.

Cheers,
Angelo

Drove the 80 yesterday w/ the rebuilt transmission. Transmission feels so good, shifts great and I'm happy.
Now my only problem is the shifter is sloppy! It's been sloppy since I did the swap and I've finally had enough. So I ordered a B&M gate shifter. It should be here Thursday

So far, so good. The "brake trigger" to view video goes to ground, FYI.

This one looks almost the same, seems to have a front "aux" input.

Paired with cheap amp ($118) so the amp runs the rear 4 speakers and the head unit runs the two front speakers.

I kept the existing speakers. They seem decent, probably 15 years old and a hard life. LOL

Replaced old with a new Vacuum tubes in the LM7, had a check engine light on that mysteriously vanished suddenly while driving. Read the codes anyway afterwards, had been a P0171. Not sure that fixed it but is gone and I like it that way.

The factory speaker for the original Nippon Denso AM radio in my 1978 FJ45 is starting to sound a little crackly. Maybe it is time to look into replacing it with something newer?
