I looked at it and chatted with the guy for awhile. Pretty great truck. If you want to spot me some dough let me know. He is considering an offer I made that includes a trade. We will see.
My question with these "was running when it was parked" listings, "why can't you drive it now? How long/why was it parked?" Etc. It's hard to imagine one day just deciding you don't like to use something anymore and letting it sit. The circumstances not being disclosed always worry me. Thought this seems like a good one aside from the tail light situation.
To me running when parked means it could have low compression, could have a thrown rod (still was hitting on a few cylinders!) or windowed block (still was hitting on a few cylinders!) in a bad scenario, or maybe had a alternator issue or slipping clutch... who knows. Anything really.. But that somebody can say with some honesty it should have most of its parts. ie: it is relatively complete.
I just got off the phone with the guy and he said he bought it from NE and the moving company drove it off the trailer when it was delivered. However, he said it was running rough and sounded like it was "sucking a valve". I know this term means different things to different people but the short of it is that it would probably need a head rebuild at a minimum.
