That might make Jamie happy, but I have a set of 30's at the shop from a Trooper with 6 hole rims, that's probably alot easier to throw on there. And it would make some good pictures!
No problem... I can grab the tires then.

Chili Cheese Dog run works for me!

I will show up later today with a good tailgate shell and parts, like a new antenna, some PS fluid, coolant, distilled water, door hinges, half door latch, etc.

Ordered...

:eek::D:D:D:D

15x10. The 8s limit tire width and sit a bit narrow, though they protect the wheel... The 10s expose the rim to rock rash... but with the same backspacing they sit wider and there is less highway sidewall flex, and they happen to match the MT/R mfg. specs better. I went with the protruding bolt heads to limit what hits the rock to a cheapie bolt, mostly.

Then maybe someday I can run 13.5s. If I want.

And, they look a lot like Mickey Thompson faux beadlocks now, don't they?

Well, whaddya know. Champion is out of the Outlaw wheels (2 weeks out) so they offered to upgrade me to this:

for no extra charge. They ship today.
My artist son liked these much better, so he will feel honored! (He is also the one who wanted me to extend the bed liner down the half doors, so he does have the eye for sure. I should trust him more!)

So far Champion has impressed with their customer service, I must say.

Jamie painted Bills doors and now we are hanging them on the truck so we can fit the fenders, and do whatever cutting is needed on the fiberglass fenders, before they are painted.

It's pretty typical with fiberglass fenders, for the fenders to need quite alot of trimming along the door edge to get them to fit.

They require a large gap compared to factory fenders, for the door to open without scraping. The top area of the fender bolts on with that gap as needed, but I actually had to trim about a 1/2" off of the bottom of the fender to get it to not overlap the door.

A little more work and we should have a nice even gap.

Awesome! I like!!:thumb:
I will bring some junk fenders for parts robbing (corner marker light pocket & rear bracket) this afternoon. I have one in the back of the truck, and Yoda Jim offered me one free if I pull it, on the way over. I expect you need bolts and the rubber dealies the hood rests on?

We got the hood scoop installed last night. Trued up the fenders a bit more, got the brackets off some old fenders so they are ready to install. Terry will hopefully post up some pix.

I am really glad someone of Terry's experience is doing this. These fenders require a lot of fiddling - and they have the reputation of being the best fitting ones! (besides www.toyotafiberglass.com, but he is in Canada, the openings are not larger, and shipping is a killer).

Not sure why, but I like the Outlaw II better.
I did too, but it does get a bit busy with the beadlock bolts. The Outlaw is clearcoated, which would keep it nicer with less maintenance, but it would be harder to clean. The Baja is polished but easier to keep that way.

Valve stem placement is not ideal on either wheel. They include angled stems. I could have gone with a beadlock that would have protected the the valve stem, but it looked blingy and would not adapt to a chrome ring camo strategy for the Beehive state (a la Uncle Ben).

I could always relocate them like I did with the Eagles. Not hard. Just leaves a funny looking plugged hole. The beadlock does stick out more so that may be enough.

Why, I believe YOU might! I have some ideas. Terry offered the use of his tube bender, but I hate to impose on him because he has really worked with me on this. Then again if he charges a nominal fee I might go that way. Not sure yet!

What I was thinking was, bending a new front hoop to replace the squished one. Then adding (maybe in 1.5" tubing, a little smaller) corner protection up front. I ran a support from the rollbar back to the spare tire carrier to keep it from wiggling, but an idea sparked in my mind last night- run tube outboard of the Bushwackers in the rear (thus solving the Bushwacker vulnerability) from the slider up, horizontal, thence down to the bumper slider, and tying a horizontal bar from the fender to the 45* upper hinge support. Voila, solid spare tire, no tie-in to the body, perfect corner protection. Do the same thing on the other side.

(Then get air lifts for all the extra weight :lmao:)
I figured get the rough bends, then take the 'kit' home, notch it and weld away the afternoon.

Bill and I worked late last night and we cut a hole in his hood and fit his scoop and screwed it down.

Looks stinkin' SWEET! Your son has good taste, the second wheels are more with the times and easier to clean, I would think. I had the outlaws on an old mustang and getting into all the 2 dozen little holes got annoying fast.

I think the whole thing looks AMAZING!

I was hoping to get it painted Friday, Jamie was gonna do the last of the primer today, then paint it tomorrow.

But I have to work on the fenders and the right bedside a little more, the area of the wheel well where I have worked the body a little for tire clearance, didn't look quite right, so i'm gonna have to fix that today, and that means we won't be able to get primer on, in time to paint it before this weekend.

So sometime early next week is when it will get sprayed (I hope!)
