Hmmm.. my 40 needs a new headliner for the hardtop. How easily will mud scrape off suede, I wonder? :hill:

Looking good Mike, that's going to be a nice looking rig when it's done.

I don't think it is an option to have a suede headliner and NOT have blue stitching. Go for it, that thing is looking better all the time! :D

Between the microbursts, I got some color on the 80. It really looks green but compared to the fender it isn't. Maybe a touch lighter. It is hard to see in that first pic but I have a wire shoved between the gasket and the body so there won't be a hard paint line there. The inconsistencies in the 2nd pic are just some touch ups where a bug met his demise.

Ige came over today and we rebuilt both starters too! Thank you Ige

Hey Root, I was riding in an Xterra today and noticed in the roof there are cargo hooks embedded that pass through the headliner. Wondering, if it's not too late maybe you could find a way to put some of those nifty dealyos in there - for cargo nets and such. That would be sweet.

Well maybe since you've already got it painted that's a no-go, they would probably have to be welded in or something.

Root is there a actual factory spot for the rear light ? Found the plug not sure where the light mounts.
Thanks Dan

looking good Root!

were the starters easy? i have the parts, but it looks like more of a pain to remove it than to rebuild it.... is that true?

The starter is easy once you get it out! Just did mine a couple of weeks ago. The top bolt was really tough to get loose.

That would be cool but the roof itself is very flimsy. You wouldn't believe how thin the entire roof structure actually is.

Post #9 is the factory one. I added a third one to match the other two instead of the factory rear one. There isn't a hole for either style unless you didn't have the 3rd row option.

The starter is a pain to get out but the rebuild is easy.

Believe it or not, you can get a 1/2" air impact wrench/gun up in there to get to the top bolt :). Found that tidbit on a MUD search after trying for 10 mins with different combinations of getting to and then getting enough leverage to budge that top bolt. I did my starter rebuild at the same time I did my PHH (). I was 1/2 tempted to do the fuel filter while I was in there but I was running out of time before CM08.
