I am going to second the supercharger comment. On my 80, I couldn't GET it to overheat. Moab, highway with a full rack, ac, no ac, nuttin. You are also going to have that pusher fan, and that will make 10-15 degrees difference as well.

Also, investigate a product called "water wetter" used in racing applications. Lowers temps signifigantly. I have used it since the porsche days on my high stress engines.

also, naca ducts were made specifically to not disturb airflow, yet bring air in. They create a low pressure area specifically at that area, like siphoning off the air. They were all the rage for specific cooling needs in endurance racing (and still used in motorcycles) until water cooled turbos came along.

If you are truly worried about heat, you need to have crossflow, or directional flow to draw heat off, so in addition to rearward extraction, you will need extra intake away from the radiator or frontal blockage. your radiator shrouds are designed to maximize air over the radiator, the let it flow where ever it can over the motor. At slow speeds, i.e. trails, those ducts will be useless anyway. For higher speed cooling, you would actually need to seal off the front belly of the engine compartment, and force the air out the ducts you put in, utilizing thermals and their relative differences in pressure.

(ok - physics moment. sorry)

I have a hunch that water wetter reduces the coolant's ability to absorb heat. The gauge reads cooler water temps but the engine components are probably hotter. I will have to test that one though.

not my experience, my oil temps as well as water temps dropped.

Regular antifreeze does make the usefulness of the coolant go down. It's actually quite a bit worse coolant than plain water. Ideally you'd just use water if it didn't freeze in the winter. But manufacturers know that antifreeze is a bad coolant and design the cooling system to work with particular coolant properties.

When talking about coolants you need to know at least two main things, the material's specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity. Adding something to the base material (water) will change the thermal capacity, which is how much heat it can absorb, but also changes the material's rate of heat transfer (conductivity). IOW, Water Wetter does change the coolant's specific heat (everything does), but it also potentially changes the efficiency of the heat gain and loss. That would mean you really need to change the flow rate to match the change in both storage and transfer properties to hit the optimum balance.

My understanding is that Water Wetter does slightly increase the conductivity of the coolant, but it doesn't do much to change the capacity (maybe slightly lower, but it doesn't seem significant at all). It's a surfactant I believe, which just breaks down the surface tension of the water. If so, then it's really just helping the water to transfer the heat faster, but doesn't change the actual amount of heat it can absorb. That's fine, plain water is really a very good coolant by itself. Most people I don't think see a benefit because at lower RPM the cooling system does not need to significantly increase the conductivity of the coolant. It's in contact with the engine and radiator plenty long enough. If you are racing and holding high RPMs for long periods, then the coolant probably doesn't have long enough exposure to surfaces and that's why they need it.

The main problem IMHO is that people have much too much antifreeze in the mixture. Treat the 50/50 as a maximum and just use enough antifreeze to depress the freezing point to where you think you need it. But if it only seems to overheat at high RPM and not in normal hot air temps, then maybe your water pump or radiator, water jackets, etc. are on the fringe of acceptable flow and Water Wetter might make a difference. My first move would be to see if something's not right with the system because the way they came from Japan they generally did not overheat. Now adding a S/C is one obvious change that significantly changes the requirements of the coolant, but other than that the reason you overheat is probably an out-of-spec part or you've changed the air flow for the worse. If you are blocking the radiator too much, then Water Wetter probably isn't going to make a difference, for example. If you determine that the system is operating fine, then you need to solve the root problem before changing the coolant properties. Best moves are a bigger radiator and optimizing air flow through the radiator.

I went to the B-quiet site and it indicates:

"with suspended mineral particles it has been proven to be extremely efficient at the conversion of vibration to thermal energy."

The more vibration, the hotter it gets?

The B Quiet is great stuff similar to dynomat for a fraction of the cost, I have seen lots of high end stereo installs use that stuff with great results.

Aside from the torrential rain that hit seconds after I mixed the first pot of primer, I would say it went well. The roof is in primer now. When I pulled the windshield the bottom section had a lot of rust pitting. That got sandblasted out and is now primed. My dad came by today and helped out ton! I am glad we built the rest of the tent now. I would post a pic of the primer but I am soaked...

The color appears to be a lot lighter but actually matches the clean spots.

Uncle Ben said he wanted a turbo so I taped a leaf blower to his intake. It works ok but I need more duct tape to keep the extension cord plugged into his inverter. :p:

I need a go, no go for launch on the blue stitching

i don't see where it fits in with anything. don't remember what your leds are, but are they all blue? otherwise, i'd say no.

how about a neon pink? :p:
