With mixed sentiment, the product of me becoming more domesticated and less Outlaw, I will not be on the Outlaws run.

We'll miss you, but I don't blame you a bit. If I had the choice to spend a week of vacation with my SO or with the Outlaws, it wouldn't be a tough choice. :thumb:

I'm still planning to depart on Saturday Aug. 18. Jackson mentioned that he plans to leave Saturday as well. We'll have to drive like the wind to catch up with y'all.

Well, you have a super charger, I’ll be in the 200, and I’ve never known marco to drive slow. Does he have a “baby on board” sticker on the 60 yet?

So 12 hrs to Malta, Mt. I assume we camp somewhere outside of there.

The 60 kinda tops out at 75-80 to keep the T case cool. It'll do much faster but I don't like to push it that hard all day. Maybe we take the runner or hitch a ride.

I don't think my 80 will do any faster than 75-80 MPH. We'll be fine.

You guys are welcome to hop in with me. Might be a bit cramped, but I bet we could make it work.

I don’t drive much over 75, so we’re probably good there.

One month away! :thumb:

Check out Amazon Perry, I saw several inflatables that looked capable for around $100. Do you know how far across it is? swimmable?

Thanks Martin. Would somebody be able to look at this more? My budgets a bit tight till Montana, especially since I just got new tires.

I don't fully know how long the channel is that we'd be fording to get to Grand Island from Hide a Way Coulee. You can take a look at it on Google Earth, but again, don't know the distance.

looks like 100' across or so. Would we walk the path I sketched and is that the island? Would we be crossing that part of the river where my raft is?

Good find Marco. I'm swimming that unless it's in some sort of flood stage! I was tempted to swim the Colorado at Spanish Bottom during Outlaws when we did the Maze but Kurt, Perry and Daniel talked some sense into me. :hill::beer:

I have access to a two man inflatable kayak... its a cheap-o deal that a buddy uses to fish a few ponds around. I am sure he'd let me borrow it for the weekend.

It can hold two full size dudes... we could possibly tether one end and send two over, retrieve it via a rope, send two over... rinse and repeat?

I think my Dad is gonna fly out and spend the week with us too. Is that cool before he commits to a flight?

If he doesn't mind long days getting lost and people occasionally shooting guns after dark, he will have a good time. It will help if he doesn't like Pearl Jam.

Anyone planning on pulling a trailer or using a RTT this year? I'm trying to decide if I want to put the RTT on, bring a tent, sleep in the truck, etc.

Marco,

Yes, was planning to come to Grand Island from Hide a Way Coulee from where you marked, though hopefully with a more efficient route:hill:..

And nice find on Larry's write up for Grand Island. That pic answer's a lot. I'm feeling more comfortable with us swimming across. Maybe we each get a good dry bag or something? The hike to the island down Hide a Way coulee looks to be about 5miles one way, unless we can utilize that road Markofsky found.

Drew,

That would be great if your friend would be willing to share them with us! Otherwise Jackson and I were thinking maybe we all could chip in for some kind of cheap inflatable?

Pearl Jam rules!

Planning on either sleeping inside the truck or outside.

So my old man is out. I forgot I'll need to bail a little early and be back in Bozeman by Friday.

I plan on sleeping in the rig. I will work my mojo on the dual kayak. It's like this but for two...

Sorry your dad can't make it Drew. Boat looks perfect.
