Assuming no gates (always a risk in MT) and assuming no washouts, I found a road that would take us to within less than a mile, as the crow flies, of Grand Island. (47.703944, -108.784373). Most of the land in that area is BLM. Grand Island is Fish and Wildlife Service. http://svc.mt.gov/msl/mtcadastral. My guess is we can walk or swim the small backwater that separates Grand Island from the shore. I also bet more searching would turn up a good road to Hideaway Coulee.

So fun searching maps!

Damn you all are eager, its only 2017. But, it has been a while since we tossed ammo in a Dakota Fire Hole, I have a truck to drive this time, I just got new tires, a winch, and can carry plenty of fuel, so, ok.

Gents, would like to do a get together here soon so we can start getting things nailed down. I can do next Wed the 13th or 20th. Able to meet downtown? Paramount? We can go over maps, i'll show you all the route, and my plans for Grand Island.
